About This Event

Discover how the inner journey of meditation opens you to dimensions of spontaneity, joy, and freedom that are a natural part of your heart and mind, your wild within. Conversely, discover how the outer journey of walking among Rowe’s forests, streams, lakes, open skies, and winding paths opens you to dimensions of wonder and delight that support and mirror your innate freedom.

During this extended weekend retreat with Tibetan Buddhist teachers Willa and Bob, you’ll alternate seated and walking meditation with periods of noble silence, discussion, interactive sharing, and fun and play. You’ll learn to find guidance for the inner path through relationship with nature and the beauty of earth, animals, trees, water, and plants. You’ll discover wonder as a profound spiritual resource. You’ll explore why liberation from suffering, and freedom to realize your aspirations, is not about transcending the human condition — it’s about finding the inherent freedom within it.

The Rowe Center is located in the middle of the Appalachian Mounain chain and borders the wilderness of Pelham Lake Park. Participants of this retreat will explore the trails on Adams Mountain right from the doorstep of the meditation room, as well as the trails leading around Pelham Lake. An idyllic contemplative start to September!

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I teach yoga part time and am a mom of two toddlers full time. I love my life, but goodness do I need a break. My husband and I have been putting off our wedding ceremony for 4 years because life has gotten in the way. We haven't had a single night alone since our family has grown. I wouldn't change a thing about our lives now, but it would be so wonderful to remember what it's like to 'just be us.' Antrim

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
