About This Event

BioDynamic Breath and Trauma Release System

The BioDynamic Breath and trauma Release System is built on an innovative approach to Trauma Release. In this trauma healing therapy, we utilize breath, conscious movement, sound, touch, trauma release exercises, and non-cathartic emotional release techniques as its foundation. This training is designed to break through the many layers of body armouring, releasing mental, emotional and physical resistance down to your core. BioDynamic Breath & Trauma Release enables you to experience the full range of sensations and emotions available to you as a human being, while expanding your capacity to contain and support the free flow of life-force energy.

During these 8 days, we will create a “safe container”: a feeling of safety in your physical body. This “container” makes trauma release possible and allows you to feel your full unrestricted energy flow without being overwhelmed by it. Working with breath techniques and movement, we begin to unlock and release the tension patterns held within the nervous and muscular systems. You will learn how to complete your body’s interrupted “Fight or Flight” impulse as well as come out of the “Frozen” and “Disassociated” states caused by past traumatic events. In addition, we have the special opportunity to work amongst Sedona’s magnetic vortexes used by Native American healers for millennia to facilitate further healing and transformation. Our unique approach also utilizes sound (through gong, didgeridoo, flutes and drums) as medicine to increase the vibrational frequency of our body and promote healing. This work provides restructuring at a cellular level, supporting the opening of the spine and ultimately transforming you into an increasingly present, conscious, and joyous being.

TRAINING TOPICS

Anatomy of breath

Physiology of trauma

Body armouring by body segments (releasing 7 belts of tension: eyes and forehead, throat, shoulders & arms, chest, diaphragm, abdomen, pelvis)

Fundamentals of grounding work and bio-energetic exercises

Supporting and receiving Biodynamic Breathwork sessions

Foundation of Somatic Experiencing (Trauma Release)

Myofascial Unwinding (a connective tissue release modality)

Trauma & Tension Release Exercises (TRE)

Cultivating the inner space required to support a BioDynamic Breath & Trauma Release session

Bodywork and Conscious Touch techniques

Acupressure points to support energetic release during BioDynamic Breath sessions

Active and other meditation techniques to support well-being and integration of a BioDynamic Breath & Trauma release session

Using sound & vibrational healing as an emerging field within trauma release.

Connecting with and using the surrounding energetic & vibrational field of Mago Retreat Center, Sedona, Arizona

During painful or traumatic events, we lose our connection to feeling and the sense of being grounded, resulting in tension, numbness, and a disconnect from the universal life force energy within (Prana or Qi).

Supported by the surrounding beauty and powerful energetic field of Sedona you will begin to master the art of moving deeply into your body, facilitating the release of stored trauma with skill and sensitivity.

The BioDynamic Breath and Trauma Release Practitioner Training is fully experiential in nature; therefore, it is a deep personal and group process as well as a training. This group process is open to anyone wishing to receive a solid foundation for working with breathwork and trauma healing therapies, or for those who simply wish to explore themselves, work with their own trauma healing on a personal level and truly open up. It is a perfect opportunity for advanced and beginner yoga students and teachers, psychologists, bodyworkers and trauma therapists to deepen their understanding and experience of supporting others on the path to transformation.

No previous experience is necessary.

For those participants who wish to continue their training with us, we ask that after completing Basic Training Parts 1 & 2, and before beginning Advanced Training 3 & 4, students are required to offer 25 practice sessions free of charge in exchange for feedback (from the volunteer client). This will allow you to gain further and deeper hands-on experience. We also ask that the trainee practitioners attend our webinar modules. Trainees will receive online support from the facilitators periodically.

This trauma healing modality is recognized and accredited by:

The American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP)

The National Ministry of Education in Poland

The International Breathwork Foundation

The Global Professional Breathwork Alliance

National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork

Sometimes you need what mago retreat has to offer

Sometimes, it's hard to get back to who you are, we experience things in life emotionally that give the perception of changing us. Mago retreat helped me realize I never changed. I'm still a happy loving person, and my negative experiences in life don't shape or define who I am. It has made such an impact on me I decided to volunteer. I seen the power of Tao and want to learn more so I can help others who might have found themselves in a disposition similar to the one I had. I hope if you have been afflicted by negativity you can find peace. I couldn't find it on my own, thank you Amy and juniper!

      Full moon meditation retreat

It was the most beautiful experience. The staff was friendly and the rooms were immaculate. The food was delicious and had plenty of choices to choose from. The grounds were breath taking as well as the sights of the mountains that surrounded Mago. The connection I made with mother earth was ABSOLUTELY incredible. The course was very informative I learned more about the chakras and how to move our body to feel more energy. How to create more energy and how to keep the energy. Although the moon did not show you could still feel its presence. It was powerful with energy and the Love from mother earth was felt all around. Thank you Mago! You will see me again.

      Unity Consciousnes

The surrounding mountains with their beauty and the energy of their natural vortices welcome the visitor "home" to the peace and tranquility of Mother Earth. The retreat offers endless places to walk and to meditate. The flowering and fruiting trees, plants, birds and wildlife produce Earths blessings along with the care of attentive humans. The organic garden and the kitchen are splendid. The meals were absolutely delicious, plentiful and suited to every palate and allergy. 5 stars, highly recommended

I experienced healing at the retreat

I had a wonderful experience at the MaGo Retreat for the 120 Meditation School in June, 2018. The teachers/Masters were fantastic. I was the unfortunate student who slipped on a hill and turned her ankle. Immediately, I felt surrounded by love! Two of the Masters acted as living crutches to help me walk off the hill. They gathered an ice bag, a cane, and an Ace wrap, and moved me by an electric cart to my room. They tucked me into my bed, and examined the ankle. As a retired nurse, I agreed it was sprained, not broken. One of them (Master Han) obtained a take out meal from the diner, while Master Shin performed a healing ceremony over my upinjury. I missed one class, but was taken to the afternoon class via the cart. There, I was placed in a chair with my leg on a second chair @ and a fresh ice pack. I was ferried back and forth to my room, classes, and the diner. Other students drew on their life experience - an acupuncturist did a procedure that greatly diminished my pain, and an acupressurist helped the next day. Everywhere we went, I was assisted on stairs, into and out of the van, offered ice bags. I literally felt surrounded by love and healing. I’ve has sprained ankles before - I was weight-bearing with the cane the second day, and continued to heal rapidly during the retreat. I have noted a slowing in the healing away from Sedona, but still making progress.

      perfect retreat

It is a place as no many can be found. Only several miles from Sedona and less than 2 h drive from Phoenix, but light years away from all the traffic, noise and activities of modern cities. It is the place to enjoy moments of silence, serenity of nature, our thoughts, solitude, in a well balanced luxury and great food provided 3 times a day.

      Beautiful setting; wonderful teacher

I spent two night at the retreat center on the spur of the moment. The first night was very difficult as I could not fall asleep. The concrete floor in the bedroom was so cold and the heater cycled on and off every few minutes. I almost checked out the following morning. Thank goodness Mu Shim had time for me. Over the next day and a half we had 3 sessions. Mu Shim is really fabulous, I cannot say enough good things about her.

      Meditation workshop

I didn't know what to expect. Barracks? Up at 4 in the morning? Vegetarian food and no wine? I believe that while I participated in the workshop, much was so new and different to my life thus far. But now that I have returned home, although I am still stumbling through the concepts and practices, I see and feel the value of my 3 days in the Red Rocks. The staff and team were lovely, knowledgeable people. Their genuine desire to share ways in which they have found personal peace was palpable. My eyes were definitely opened. I desire to grow in the teachings. I hope to return some day as well.

      Magical and healing retreat center!

Sedona Mago was the perfect setting for training and retreat. The grounds are beautifully kept and thoughtfully designed to promote introspection and healing.       One of the most authentic retreat centers

If you're looking for a place to truly connect with nature, experience energy, and brighten your spirit, Sedona Mago Retreat is unbeatable. The facilities and accommodations are simple and well cared for- nothing fancy, but nothing too fanciful either. The surrounding landscape is truly a treasure- off the beaten path (the drive in seems long, but it's worth it), with some of the best overlooked red-rock panoramas in the area. The natural beauty is enhanced by the feeling that you are staying in a place that is practical as well as pristine. The welcome center is well-stocked with a variety of items, from clothing to crystals to snacks for midnight munchies. A 24 hour lounge allows computer access for those who need to check email the old fashioned way, and the dining hall serves 3 high quality buffet style meals regularly each day. Whatever program you're attending, Sedona Mago Retreat will surely enhance the value of your experience.

A perfect time at the retreat

My husband and I recently returned from a 3 day stay at the retreat. We were there between programs, so were there to spend a relaxing few days. Everything was better than we had anticipated. The grounds are gorgeous, as is the landscape that surrounds you here. The atmosphere is peaceful and inspiring; we loved walking the meditation trail around the lake. We were very happy with our room. The food was amazing, we loved every meal, they were healthy, perfectly prepared gourmet meals, some of the best food I've had anywhere. I definitely hope to return and highly recommend to others.

      Beautiful!

The staff was warm and helpful, especially Forest. I had to cancel a night and he was very understanding and waived the fee. The food was incredible! It made me want to go vegetarian. I felt great after 3 days of healthy eating. Now the land, so peaceful with waterfalls, twisted trees and big beautiful nature placed flat red rocks. The retreat center was perfect and my retreat with Linda Star Wolf was amazing. Thank you and I'll be back. Debbie

Thank you!

We're glad you've joined our retreat community. See you around :)
