8 days and 7 Nights of Yoga retreat in God’s own country, Kerala. Relax, rejuvenate and return back to your home with a joy filled New You! The tools are classical Hatha yoga, vinyasa flow, chanting and meditation, Ayurvedic massage therapies, nature walks and treks, swimming and cultural visits to help you relax your body and mind so that you can experience the natural happiness and lightness within.

The River County Retreat is located on the most beautiful place in Kerala, called Kallar. It is surrounded by trees, with a breathtaking view of a pebbled river where you can enjoy every moment of your retreat in peace and serenity. It is your invitation to de-stress, enjoy peace and experience moments of silent retreat. It is a celebration of nature blended with unusual adventure options as it surrounds you with the gurgle of the pebbled river, with the music of the birds and the soft caress of wind on your face.

The accommodation, comprising of various options to choose from, is pristine and comfort-filled. Each room provides breath taking views of the nature surrounding the Kallar River and is a treat in itself.

Enjoy an array of lip-smacking authentic and and traditional cuisines prepared by our in-house chef. It’s sure to provide you a culinary experience like never before.

You will practice in a beautiful open-air terrace yoga place overlooking deep jungle and the pebbled river.

Monsoon Yoga Retreat Program

The classes are based on the different yogic systems. Some of the classes are more physical and vigorous and some are more recuperative and relaxing.

All classes are optional. After all, this is a holiday not a boot camp! It is fine if you decide to sleep or spend more time on the beach in the afternoon. A big part of yoga is listening to your body's needs and a holiday is also about rest and recharging.

All yoga classes are held in English and there will always be two teachers (Abhilash and Priyanka) to ensure a correct performance and to attend individual needs. We will be concentrating on all ailments related to a human body, mind and soul. For sure, it will be an amazing experience and you will leave this place filled with Love and joy.

Guided meditations

Each yoga session will finish with 30 minutes of guided meditation. Every time you will learn a different technique, so that you can have a better vision about the form of meditation which could be more suitable to your nature:

•Pranayama (control of prana through breathing)

Daily classes schedule

Day 1 (Arrival day)

You will arrive at the retreat. There will not be yoga lessons on the first day. You will be provided with explanations about the week, give you practical information about the place and answer your possible questions. There will be fresh fruits, salads, herbal teas available during the day.

Day 2- 7

•06:00 am – 7;30 am Pranayama & Yoga

•07:30 – Breakfast and relax in the nature

•10.30 – 12.00 Yoga

•12:00 – Lunch break and relax

•Breaks will be for other activities like trekking, nature walks, cultural visits and other activities

•19:30 Dinner

Day 8 (Departure day)

•07:30 Breakfast

You can stay in the retreat as long as you need to wait for the time of your travel back

Personal program approach

Whether you are a beginner or experienced, this retreat is designed to accommodate your level. So if you have never tried yoga, do not feel intimidated, We will assist you throughout the week. This yoga retreat is a great option for both advanced yoga students as well as beginners; all activities are developed with personal attention to each guest's preferences and goals.

The intense yoga classes will tune up your body, mind, and soul. And being away and resting from your normal routine, practicing yoga, meditation, and being outdoors in nature may help to give a fresh perspective and awareness of yourself and your life. You may prefer to take the week more as a retreat, with more silence and reflection during the free time. Or, you may just prefer to relax and be on holiday! Most importantly you begin from where you are.

During this retreat, the food will be prepared using organic vegetables and products, and since Complimentary fresh fruit, spring water, and herbal teas are available all day. The kitchen is 100% vegetarian and they will provide you all meals, (breakfast, lunch and dinner).

Collectors of spices and recipes adapted to their special and unique style: Eating healthy and delicious using all your senses! They also prepare a special menu for those with allergies or food intolerance.

Spa treatments

The famous Kerala Ayurvedic massage therapy is available. It is possible to book massage sessions if you want to.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Trivandum airport. You can book a cab from Trivandrum to River county resort.

You may also take a train to Trivandum from any location in India. Please check with your travel agents.

Cancellation Policy

•A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.

•The deposit is partially refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 15 days before the arrival date.

•The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.

About the teachers:

Abhilash Soman:

Ahilash Is an internationally certified yoga teacher and the founder of Avadhuta School of Yoga at Kovolam, Kerala, India. With more than 12 years of professional experience in Hata Yoga, Vinyasa, meditation, pranayama and many more yogic techniques, he trained many nationalities from 7 years to 71 years old. He also conducts international wellness retreats in India and abroad. Apart from this, he is and exceptionally positive individual and an NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) trainer.

His training is thorough, focused, insightful and very informative and he always provides clear and effective directions . He is particular to ensure that students are practicing safely at their own level, and careful to provide individual feedback.

Priyanka Aiyer:

Priyanka had been indulged in Yoga since she was 10 years old. After travelling the world and working for numerous multinational companies, she decided to take up Yoga as her profession. She holds an experience of 5 years in professional Yoga teaching and has assisted in many retreats. One of her recent experiences are with Avadhuta school of Yoga, Kerala.

Priyanka has good knowledge about pranayama, alignment in yoga, understanding different bodies and personalize Yoga sessions according to their needs.
