About This Event

A Women’s Retreat

You have engaged in meditation, yoga or mindfulness practices and enjoyed a deep level of self-connection, relaxation and ease. Yet, you find it challenging to integrate your inner experiences on the cushion or mat into the current daily expressions of divisiveness, bigotry and violence in our world. You may feel unsure about what to do and may even feel powerless.

There is an inner knowing that tells you, you are needed at this time in history. It is true, you are needed in your divine feminine form as an agent of compassion, power and clarity. You are needed as an awake being who can integrate your spiritual practices into the important conversations we need to have around issues of race, privilege and oppression.

Through guided meditations, dharma talks, yoga, dance, generative writing, and conscious communication inquiry you will awaken the enlightened feminine within you at the three aspects of your being: body, speech and heart/mind.

Come to this women’s retreat to

Embody the wisdom of the Mandala of the Enlightened Feminine, a practice developed by Lama Tsultrim Allione. This is a core practice in the Wisdom Rising movement that Lama Tsultrim founded.

Find your authentic voice and expression to raise awareness and mindfulness to engage in healing conversations about shared power and acceptance.

Compassionately uncover your own unseen issues around race, privilege, oppression, and authority

Transform obstacles into the path through Feeding Your Demons®

Know yourself through the powerful practice of journaling and generative writing. As you come closer to your authentic self, you will unlock your creativity and learn ways of telling your story.

Develop strategies and an action plan to take this work into your life and the world

Together, we can walk the world embodying our feminine power and stand up for equality, compassion and understanding!

The Tibetan Healing practice of Chöd will be offered as a healing ceremony. Those who know the Namkhai Norbu Chöd, please bring your practice materials.

Please bring comfortable clothes for movement practices and meditation.

This retreat is open to all who identify as women.

Suggested Dana: $150-$200

Venue Highlights

Bordered by the San Juan National Forest and Southern Ute Tribal Land, Tara Mandala Retreat Center is on 700-acres of rolling hills and meadows adorned with many varieties of wildflowers, ponds, and forests. The land itself is a mandala with a stunning peak in the middle surrounded by four valleys. Retreat cabins are scattered across the landscape designed for deep retreat, and at its heart, is the extraordinary three-story Tara temple which celebrates the sacred feminine. The center has a Community Building, where residents and retreatants convene for meals, and other activities.

Accommodations

Tara Mandala offers a large residence hall (Prajna Residence Hall) for luxurious accommodations. Rooms have single or double beds. Private or shared bathrooms are available. Toiletries and towels are not supplied, so it is recommended that retreatants please bring their own. Retreatants can stay in one of our two Dorm Yurts. These yurts house 8-10 beds. We also offer a large camp-ground, for those who want to get back to nature for their retreat accommodation. For those who are camping and staying in yurts, showers are available in the Community Building, a short walk away. There are plenty of cubicles in the bathrooms to store your toiletries and personal belongings.

      Retreats

It’s a very special place to participate in retreats, whichever! The whole surroundings of land and people living and working there makes it what it is , a place to learn, practice and live there and of course the presence of two Lamas . A chance to change in a positive way , even crusted staff has a chance to solve.

Thank you!

We're glad you've joined our retreat community. See you around :)

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

This sounds like a dream! I am an education student and I have spent way too much time working all summer to pay for school. My boyfriend of 5 years is a government firefighter and has been away working most of the summer. His 30th Birthday and our 6th anniversary is coming up this winter, we would love to celebrate with a yoga retreat! We both love yoga but have barley had time to practice in the past few months. Keeping our fingers crossed! Jaimee and Dan
