Celebrate the Abundant Life in Greece with Shakti Yoga

About us

Join Kelly Carter and Lauren Farina in the Gorgeous Greek Island of Amorgos. This is the time to let yourself bask in the beauty of the soothing blue ocean and nourish your body, mind, and soul with practice, adventure, and community.

Our mornings begin with meditation and yoga practice in the outdoor shala overlooking the Aegean Sea. We will nourish our bodies with delicious locally sourced Greek cuisine and organic produce right from their garden. The afternoons will be spent exploring the historic towns, relaxing on the beach, hiking the coastline, or doing whatever feeds your soul. Most evenings will be spent with a restorative practice followed by a group dinner to share our day and enjoy each others company.

Our retreats are shaped by our intention to immerse ourselves in the culture of where we are and to be open to the adventures that present themselves to us. This week will be a perfect balance between rest and play. We have discovered through leading and attending many retreats that traveling together and saying yes to life and its opportunities in the moment create lasting friendships and a gratitude for life’s abundance that will last forever.

LEADERS:

Kelly Carter
I began practicing yoga in 2006. It didn’t take long till I started to see the effects of how the practice impacted my life. I am passionate about my practice and have the desire to share this passion with the world. I have completed teacher trainings with Baron Baptiste, Johnna Smith, and Sumit Banerjee. I teach mostly power yoga vinyasa because it changed my life. Building the Shakti community with my sister Lauren has been one of my greatest adventures. This community has come together through a shared love of yoga and continues to grow and expand outside the studio walls. I am inspired by the leaders and teachers at Shakti Power Yoga and leaders from the Baptiste community who motivate me to continue to move forward and expand my boundaries. My husband has been my biggest support and the way his business impacts Nashville continues to inspire me. Workshops, teacher trainings, and destination retreats have brought me so much joy, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to co-lead retreats with the woman I love and admire, Lauren. We offer a retreat that will give you the opportunity to rejuvenate, reconnect with yourself and others, practice, practice, practice, and immerse yourself in the experience of the beauty of Greece.

Lauren Farina
I first started teaching in 2009, and since then, I have continued to grow as a teacher and student. I am blessed by many teachers in my life and have learned powerful lessons from each along the way. Every day is an opportunity for growth and to connect with others.
I am Baptiste Certified, and my practice and teaching is rooted in the Baptiste Methodology. I have also trained with Sri Dharma Mittra and he has taught compassion and peace in my life and I am honored to be able to teach the techniques and practices he has shared with me. What I love about the practice is that I will continue to always be a student; there is something new to learn each day from my students and in my own practice.
My sister and I opened Shakti Power Yoga in Nashville in 2012 and every day I am grateful for our community and the space we have created together. I am blessed by the growth and support of our community.
Yoga has transformed my life and I am grateful I can be a service to others by sharing my passion. Yoga has allowed me to unfold a strength in my body, an ease in my mind, and an openness in my heart that I did not know was there. In my teaching and practice my intention is to create a powerful connection with myself and others and to be open to what is right in front of me in each moment. I believe kindness, presence, and gratitude is the key to happiness and endless possibilities.
I am so excited to be leading this retreat to Greece with my sister, Kelly. Together we create a powerful team of love, growth, connection, and fun. Greece is a magical place and I am excited to explore the beauty the country provides and connect with all of you. Cheers to spending a week to rejuvenate the body, mind, and soul.
