The Art of Wisdom Yoga: Wakeful Body, Wakeful Mind

About us

If you long for a yoga practice that deeply impacts the quality of your mind and spirit, come explore how to bring the wisdom of meditation into the body. Rather than striving toward perfection in meditation and yoga, learn to access the inner resources of energy, grace, and balance that are already present as your birthright.

The ancient tradition of hatha yoga was initially intended to complement meditation as an embodied way to draw out our innate, primordial wisdom. The esoteric Buddhist tradition of the Himalayas has preserved a lineage of embodied meditation and yoga that brings our subtle energies into alignment, unearths our innate self-knowledge, and deepens our potential for loving-kindness and compassion.

The practice of Wisdom-Yoga relies on discovering the wakefulness within. Lama Willa Miller and Elizabeth Monson focus on the body’s natural ability to evoke emotional maturity, wisdom, equanimity, and compassion.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Recenter, Rebalance, Renew..... I cannot provide nurture and wisdom to the people I love without the opportunity to fill up my own cup. Diane

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
