About us

This NEOS course will allow those seeking the core Nuts and Bolts program to earn their required course while still providing new and enriching program planning tools for new participants.

NEOS Courses begin on Friday at 5:30 pm with Dinner and ends on Sunday with lunch.

You are not alone – learn and network with other youth leaders to remind you of this.

Core Course (Nuts and Bolts) participants will spend Friday evening exploring the foundations of intentional youth ministry. Topics include models of youth ministry, Duty of Care, maintaining healthy boundaries, screening volunteers, self-care, and program & planning components to build your toolbox of games and ideas.

Friday Evening will provide participants who already have their core course to brainstorm, network and commune. Bring a project that you are working on or are dreaming about & collaborate with mentors and other leaders to dream it into being. Or work on something brand new together.

Saturday will bring both groups together to focus on planning and programming for youth ministry.

This is a NEOS event, Five Oaks Youth Ministry Certificate Program.  Applicable to volunteer and paid leaders of Sunday School,Youth Group, Confirmation and Christian Development Committees.

Those taking this program toward the NEOS Certificate in Youth Ministry must attend the full weekend in order to receive credit.

Please be aware that NEOS Youth Ministry programs qualify for a Vision Fund First Thirds Bursary from the General Council office.    .

In addition, we encourage you to ask your local congregation, presbytery and Conference to determine if there are funds available to assist you

Free Retreat Givewaway

We love you. And because we do, we're giving away another free retreat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

So that I am rejuvenated to be the best I can be in my relationships - personal, work and in Society - offering and giving to be of benefit to others! Laura

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
