Mahamudra Dathun

About us

“When mind is without reference point, that is mahàmudrà. When you are accustomed to and familiar with this, unsurpassable awakening is attained.”

– Tilopa; Mahàmudrà: The Ocean of Definitive Meaning, p 174.

Join retreat leaders Elizabeth Callahan, Scott Wellenbach and Nancy Huszagh for an entire month’s practice of mahamudra.

As a practice text, we will use The TransmissionPointing Out the Dharmakaya by the ninth Karmapa, Wangchuk Dorje, translated by the Vajravairochana Translation Committee. You can purchase the text and commentary for $65 Canadian from Nalanda Translation. Please purchase these materials prior to the retreat.

The retreat will follow a traditional three-year retreat format – four practice sessions per day. Authorization to attend is restricted to Vajrayana practitioners. Due to the sequential nature of the instructions, full participation is required.

Free Retreat Givewaway

We love you. And because we do, we're giving away another free retreat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

After having just completed my RYT 200 I have been inspired to further my yoga journey and my own personal journey inward. I have fallen in love with yoga and how it has changed my life and I just want to continue to explore so I can share this beautiful gift with as many as possible. Jessica

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
