About us

Mindfulness practice opens up the possibility of being more fully present in each moment, strengthening our capacity for awareness, compassion, and skillful action. It is a way to work directly with the challenges of daily life and the stress and pain of illness, rediscovering a basic sense of healthiness.

Mindfulness has been recognized as an effective approach to reduce physical and psychological distress and improve quality of life for individuals with a wide range of health related issues.  For caregivers and clinicians, these practices have been found to reduce the risk for burnout and strengthen compassion.

This weekend retreat will include instruction in mindfulness meditation, contemplation, and compassion practices. There will be opportunities for dialogue and discussion. We will explore the meaning of health and healing and the various ways that mindfulness and compassion practices have been applied as approaches to health promotion and distress management.

No prior experience is necessary.

*Please register by Friday, March 9th so that we know there are enough participants to run the program.
