About This Event

Elevate your practice in the powerfully stunning setting of the Sacred Valley of Peru on this week-long Sacred Roots Yoga Retreat. Connect to the wisdom of ancient teachings and immerse yourself in the rhythms of nature as you enjoy daily yoga workshops, pranayama practice, meditation, shamanic philosophy and chakra theory. Spend your afternoons exploring your surroundings and local culture in the nearby villages, hiking along winding rivers, through charming villages and mountain meadows or revitalize mind, body and spirit as you soak in the energy and beauty of our private garden retreat centre.

We will be based at the beautiful Willka T’ika Retreat Center, a luxury Eco-Lodge located at the base of glacier-topped Andean Peaks in the heart of the Sacred Valley and one of the most energetically charged and culturally rich places on earth. Willka T’ika is built sustainably with each guest room reflecting the textures and colours of Mama Earth, ‘Pachamama’ in the local Quechua language. The magnificent healing gardens offer the opportunity to rest, restore and receive the powerful energy of the Andes as each one of the 7 elaborate chakra gardens that covers the grounds is designed to correspond to each chakra, or energy centre of the human body.

  •   Magical Journey

Willka T’ika is the perfect setting for discovering the breathtaking beauty, powerful history and remarkable culture of the Andes. The accommodation and gardens Carol and her delightful Andean staff have created are beyond description- out first attempts were “paradise” and “garden of Eden”. The attention to our comfort –from incredible, locally grown vegetarian cuisine to hot water bottles warming our sheets every night – is unparalleled in my experience. In this exquisite setting, side trips to Andean Archeological sites with an enthusiast and bright guide who shared her passion for the Andean culture, our experience became richly textured like the beautiful Andean weavings. I was incredibly touched by the authenticity of Qero pakko Don Benito and his family members who led us in the Andean offering and Fire ceremony. Without questions this has been the most enjoyable, most meaningful travel experience of my life! Namaste. Kay Kamas and Jim Porter

      An amazing teacher

I met Kirsten per chance on a retreat that my cousin registered me for over Mother's Day weekend in 2014. Initially, I had no idea what I signed up for nor what the intent of the weekend was. Within the first 30 minutes of the start of the retreat, I knew I was in for something special. Kirsten touched my soul in a way I never expected. While the yoga was amazing and did wonders for my body, it was her spirit that I was so attracted to. It was as though she knew exactly what my soul needed to hear so that I could continue to move forward through a challenging time of my life. I left the retreat feeling more peace in my heart. Since my first retreat, I have followed Kirsten to a retreat she hosted in Camore in Aug 2014, and I will soon be joing her week long retreat in Peru in Nov 2014.

Beauty and grace, strength and love, and lots of laughter~

I first met Kristen in the Canadian Rockies as my hiking guide for the day. I was immediately drawn to her sense of adventure and play, while she made sure I was not overdoing it on the trail. She opened my eyes to even more of the beauty that was there, pointing out to me those small things that I might ordinarily pass by. I have found her to be an incredibly intuitive & empathetic teacher over the years, and she that way of making me want to challenge myself in whatever practice we are doing. And we laugh, a lot, which I love. She brings light to topics that can be very heavy, and allows me to see a more positive way to frame things. I cannot wait to work with her in Peru this November! She is a very special gal, I feel very lucky to know her.

Amazing Energy, Deep Knowledge and a Gentle, Yet Powerful Approach

The title of this review really says it all. Kristen Stuart is a talented teacher with a multi-faceted background. Her passion for health and wellness, and helping others find energy, power and balance in their lives, seeps from her every pore. She is a committed student herself - to reading, learning, and practicing. She brings this vulnerability into her teaching, and provides her own students with a holistic approach to their own wellness. With a passion for Ayurveda, yoga and renewal in the outdoors, Kristen will breathe fresh air into your life. I highly recommend one of her workshops or retreats!

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I am an oncology nurse and a few long time patients have died recently. I need to rejuvenate and return to my breath! Elizabeth
