Writing Retreat in Dordogne, France

  • Saint-Médard-de-Mussidan, France
  • Jun 23 - 30, 2018 (8 days)
  • $1950-$2450

About us

Our June writing retreat will be in the picturesque, timeless Dordogne region of France east of Bordeaux and near the charming towns of Perigeux & Bergerac. The land of castles and caves is a writer's oasis surrounded by undulating fields, lazy curving rivers, limestone cliffs and medieval villages sure to galvanize your pen. Writers will stay in a manor with private room (single) and bath and use of the plentiful indoor and outdoor garden areas including a swimming pool.

The daily writing workshops will take place in the lush garden or indoors in the manor's common areas. Dinners will either be prepared by a chef with locally sourced produce served in the manor's garden or outings to local restaurants. The Lit-up social hours will also take place in the garden with some in local cafes. Excursion to nearby Bergerac, walking and biking through the verdant countryside, visit to local open air markets.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Reconnecting with basic goodness in an environment of people who share a vision for a better society. Wimberly

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
