Nepal Uncovered - Women's Only Wellness Adventure
There is an inner truth guiding you towards your best possible life! Let's take some space to play with this mind-body communication and uncover new meanings in health and well-being. Through deep, inspiring conversation, movement, and stunning nature we'll find an improved self image, clear purpose, and a new tribe of friends.
Over nine days we treat our wellness as a travel experience while having an adventurous holiday in the best possible care and comfort. This trip is deeply connected with those involved in organizing. Everyone from the hosts, trek guides, porters, NGO groups, cooks, hotel staff, and transportation staff are directly connected to one another through strong social relationships built on wellness, women's empowerment, mindfulness, movement, and environmentally conscious tourism. The expense of the retreat is all-inclusive from arrival to departure and benefits the economic growth of tourism in Nepal responsibly. This retreat is for women only to promote empathy and understanding between various cultures.
Nepal has been chosen as the host for this adventure with the intention of developing empathy and understanding between women of various cultures. Not even a massive earthquake can shake the spirit of the Nepalese women. By taking part in this journey you have a valuable impact on reviving the nation's much needed tourism industry and overall economic growth. More importantly you experience the direct influence you have on the people you meet. The mountains are calling. The trails are open. The people are as welcoming as ever. Are you ready to uncover what you have to offer the world?
Megan is an incredible leader. She thinks of every detail from beginning to end. She makes experiences one to remember forever. I would absolutely go on another adventure with her and encourage everyone who has an opportunity, to do so too. I promise it will change your life!" Day 1: It is April 20th, 2018 and we've just landed in Kathmandu, Nepal! Upon arriving we transfer to Hotel Mulberry. It is here we enjoy some personal space to unpack and unwind. The rest of the day is spent relaxing and getting to know the Lost and Found tribe at the female separate spa and the gorgeous infinity pool on the roof terrace. After a briefing with our Trek guide we wander through Kathmandu's ancient Durbar Square and finish the evening with dinner in a traditional Newari restaurant
Day 2: After a hot breakfast at Hotel Mulberry we meet with a group of local women that take us shopping around the spice and vegetable bazaars of ancient Asan. The local women invite us to their home where we cook a traditional Nepalese 5 course meal together. The rest of the afternoon we spend shopping, moving around, and taking in the culture of Kathmandu. At sundown Bhoudnath Stupa hosts a spectacular sunset and dinner at a local favorite restaurant.
Day 3: After breakfast a short 25 minute flight takes us along the Himalaya to Pokhara. The flight offers breathtaking views of the chains of Langtang, Manaslu and Annapurna. Upon arriving we drive about an hour to Lumle, our trekking start point. From here we begin towards Gurung Village stopping along the way to absorb the breathtaking panoramas of the Annapurnas.
Day 4: After breakfast and a farewell to Majhgaon we head towards La Bee Lodge in Landruk. The trail meanders through the Rhododendron Forest and small Gurung villages. Three to four hours of walking leads us to the village of Landruk. We enjoy lunch in the lodge while our guide organizes a small visit to a nearby village for some serious culture connection. Before bed we stretch and restore our souls in the Landruk gardens.
Day 5: This morning we take in a hot breakfast while the Annapurna mountains provide a majestic backdrop. Our trek continues towards Modi Khola. The trail is towards the river through scattered villages and views of the Himalayas. There is a steep ascent to our destination, Ghandruk. Located at over 1900m our Lodge offers our closest views of Gangapurna, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Mount Annapurna, and other snow-capped mountains. We end our day learning traditional Gurung dances.
Day 6: Down, down, down we go leaving behind the high meadows and big views of Ghundruk. Through farms, villages and rhododendron glades (2-3 hours trek) we find the trail head above Birenthati. We celebrate our mind, body, and tribe of adventurers before jumping into jeeps for a short ride to Pokhara. In Pokhara the celebration carries on at Temple Tree Resort surrounded by the foothills of the Annapurnas. The pure, clean air of Plumeria scent helps us ease into a blissful night of rest.
Day 7: Today is a well-earned rest and relaxation day spent by the lake and resort with movement, yoga, and mindfulness. After lunch our short flight back to Kathmandu gives us one final look at the legendary Annapurnas from above. Our day closes at Monkey Temple with some of the best panoramic Kathmandu views, followed by a restful night back at Hotel Mulberry.
Day 8: We easily forget how contagious our energy is and how much we inspire one another. As women, no one understands us like us! Today we meet women who spent years living on the streets of Kathmandu. They now have the opportunity to earn a living and learn a skill while living in a safe space. Today inspiration is experienced through some handicraft work and as we learn a classic Bollywood dance piece together. In the evening we dine with a local women's group working to empower young girls living in vulnerable conditions.
Day 9: What truth have you uncovered about Nepal? What truth has Nepal uncovered about you? Breakfast gives us time to reflect on the meaning of our experiences. Guided meditation, yoga, and movement fills our afternoon of free time at the hotel and about the city. We transfer to the airport after lunch to meet our international flights and say farewell to our beloved Nepal.
