About us

You hear the work STUCK and it resonates with you. Maybe you know why you feel stuck or maybe that is where you are stuck; the not knowing. Wherever you exist on this spectrum, it may keep you from moving forward, showing up for yourself and others, leading your life into the direction you want.

Feeling 'stuck' can manifest itself as chronic tension that lives in the body in many different ways. It can exist on a physical level or a mental/emotional one. In fact, chronic tension is often experienced both physically and mentally. The body’s intelligence is to hold chronic tension in the body as a coping or defense mechanism resulting in tightness of muscles, decreased range of motion, difficulty concentrating, and foggy state of mind. It can produce feelings of immobility, worry, anxiety, exhaustion, and pain. Chronic tension can also reduce resiliency, impeding our body’s natural ability to heal and the mind’s ability to process.

In this 1-day immersion we’ll dive into our bodies and breath with Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release System® (BBTRS®) to uncover what you are holding on to and what you can let go. Allowing you to show up for yourself and others in the way you want to!

In the workshop we use the 6 elements of BBTRS®:

Breath – guided deep connected breath work to charge and activate the body
Movement – somatic movement exercises to release held energy in the body. This may include fascial opening, core tention release, and therapeutic movement/dance
Sound – vibrations from vocalization, music and instruments to support the nervous system in tension release
Conscious Touch – use of pressure points and physical assists in breath movement applied with sensitivity to increase awareness and support energy flow
Emotion – soft emotional release can be a part of the session, but not a goal. With support you will be encouraged to stay present with emotion and to return to your own sense of comfort when needed.
Meditation – resting state for the body and mind to absorb the benefits of all the work put into releasing chronic tension and prepare for self-healing.

This workshop is ideal for people who are curious, or who are aware, of how chronic tension exists in their bodies and are ready to explore and release it. We will use these 6 elements and personal inquiry to guide you into a process that will allow you to open up your body, release chronic tension and get insights into what is keeping you from taking steps forward.

The workshop will give you an introduction to BBTRS® and the science behind it. After this 1-day immersion workshop, you will feel more in touch with your body, more energy, more range of motion, more freedom and ready to move forward!

Streamside 1 and Streamside 2 apartments are the suggested accommodation where guests can book their overnight stay. The apartments are both cosy, stylish and welcoming with all the luxury needed for a comfortable stay during the retreat. They each host 5 - 6 people. The bathrooms are shared, towels and linen are provided. The two apartments are connected by the outside deck and share the garden with a fire pit that can be used for fire circles with the sound of the stream in the background.

The authentic, cosy and stylish apartment of Grapevine 2 adds three more bedrooms (two queens and one single+ bed) and is a short 5 minute walk or 1 minute drive into the village.

The Village of Andes is a wonderful place to get away in all seasons, it’s quiet but still festive, friendly, and fun. Its landscape is unmatched for its beauty. It is a spiritual place where the rivers run in all directions of the compass.

Directions

The Venue is easy to reach from New York CIty by car, which will take approximately 2.5 - 3 hours.

We can also easily be reached by public transport: A direct bus from the Port Authority New York City stops in the middle of Andes (see https://trailwaysny.com/ to plan your trip). The bus goes three times a day and takes about 4 hours. From the bus stop the venue is a short 5 minute walk along Main St.
