About us

Join teaching partners Brendon Abram and Kellie Dearman for their second Superior Paddle and Yoga Retreat. Our intention is to provide you with a unique venue where you can find the sense of well-being that comes from rediscovering and strengthening the connection that we each share with the natural world around us.

The program offers a good mix of free time and scheduled activities. In addition to daily yoga and meditation, we have several major outings planned, including an overnight voyageur canoe trip to Minnekona Point, an optional river kayaking expedition, and a day-trip hiking a portion of the Lake Superior Coastal Trail, featuring a meditation at the Agawa Rock Pictographs.

This retreat offers an amazing mix of adventure and relaxation, in one of the worlds most magical locations... the rugged shore of Lake Superior.

Menu/Cuisine

All meals, including those while on our overnight adventure, are included in this retreat. Rock Island Lodge strives to accommodate special diets and allergies. Meals consist of fresh foods with minimal processing, and they try to incorporate organic foods whenever possible. Local fishermen supply fresh Lake Superior whitefish and trout.

Accommodations

Our lodge features four rooms, each with two beds and an en suite bath. A bright, 1,500-square foot common area has couches, a wood fireplace and inspiring Lake Superior views. The lodge has telephone and Internet services but no television. Not that you’ll miss it – after a day of outdoor adventure, watch the sunset and fall asleep to the sounds of calling loons and lapping water. Every room in the lodge is located within a stone’s throw from the water’s edge. In autumn storm season, the building all but shakes in thundering surf.

Directions

Rock Island Lodge is located on the shore of Lake Superior, just outside Wawa, Ontario, a small town about 2.5 hours north of Sault Ste. Free Retreat Givewaway

We love you. And because we do, we're giving away another free retreat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

To find peace and renewal while going through a huge change in my life. Empty nest and the end of a 27 year marriage all at once. Susan
