Moon of Kindness Transmission Weekend

About us

The “Moon of Kindness” is a new phase in Shambhala study and practice. Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche has composed this practice because he feels that kindness is what the world sorely needs right now. Socially, the tone of societal interaction has become harsh and aggressive. Starting on Friday, June 8, and continuing Saturday and Sunday, Acharya Susan Chapman will give the transmission for the “Sadhana of Kindness”. This will consist of a “sadhana” composed of chanting and visualization, and several one-day retreats that will explore how we can bring kindness into our relationships with others.

This weekend will also be the beginning of a new way of studying–instead of lectures to mostly passive recipients, we will start to unpack the teachings in small groups, perhaps getting to know each other better by meeting in people’s homes. We will also explore kindness the undercurrent, or expression of basic goodness,  that people instinctively want in community.

This practice will provide a basis for post Rigden study and practice, replacing the old Sacred Path weekends and classes. All Sacred Path graduates are invited to join with the newer Rigden Weekend graduates in the study of this material.

Free Retreat Givewaway

We love you. And because we do, we're giving away another free retreat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

To reconnect with my inner self, found ground through the movement of my body and breath. Awake. Jane

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
