Stages of Meditation on Emptiness

About us

This challenging course explores the book Contemplating Reality by Andy Karr, which is based on the classic text by Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamptso, Progressive Stages of Meditation on Emptiness. Karr’s book makes the classic text more accessible and provides many helpful contemplation practices. Using Karr’s approach, we will develop our understanding and experience of egolessness, emptiness, and luminosity, as taught by historically evolving Buddhist schools. This evolving history is important because it roughly corresponds to the stages of development of our own personal wisdom.

This class is recommended for anyone who has already completed any two courses in the Shambhala curriculum and who has an established meditation practice.

Purchasing your own copy of Contemplating Reality by Andy Karr is highly encouraged.

Free Retreat Givewaway

We love you. And because we do, we're giving away another free retreat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Reconnecting with basic goodness in an environment of people who share a vision for a better society. Wimberly

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
