Midsummer Day Celebration

About us

Midsummer Day is an opportunity for families and friends in Shambhala to enjoy summer fun together. The day might include picnics, swimming and boating, outdoor sports, and music and dance performances. It begins with a lhasang (a traditional offering of juniper smoke) that purifies the environment and empowers the space, the objects, and the beings within it by invoking awakened energy. Everyone is welcome to join in.

We are reaching out to all members within the Sangha and asking for them to utilize their talents and help us make the Midsummer Day as wonderful and uplifting event. We are in need of the following: Ikebana displays 3 or 4, hor d'oeuvre's, beverages, beer, wine, soda, sparkling cider, etc..., items for the silent auction, and set-up and clean-up.

Please reach out to either Heather Wenrich to assist with any of the above listed items, and to help make this year's Summer Solstice a joyful evening for all.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Recenter, Rebalance, Renew..... I cannot provide nurture and wisdom to the people I love without the opportunity to fill up my own cup. Diane

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
