Good Conversation Salon: Kindness Will Let You Feel Again

About us

This is the last gathering in a series of conversations based on Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche’s newest book “ The Lost Art of Good Conversation”. Talking, listening and reflecting are essential pieces to good communication.

We will gather in the Halifax Shambhala Centre Community Room to meditate (instruction will be given, if needed), listen to one chapter on the topic selected for the day, reflect on what we have heard, and have a conversation about that.
Open to all — no previous meditation experience needed.

This Session: Kindness Will Let You Feel Again, lead by HSC Director Michelle Munro

About the BookIn a world of iPhones and connectivity to social media and email, we are all in constant connection with one another. Then why are so many people feeling burned out, distant from colleagues, and abandoned by family and friends? In this new book from the bestselling author of Running with the Mind of Meditation, the Sakyong uses the basic principles of the Shambhala tradition—meditation and a sincere belief in the inherent wisdom, compassion, and courage of all beings—to help readers to listen and speak more mindfully with loved ones, co-workers, strangers, and even ourselves.

Participating in this salons is free, although any donations you wish to offer are always welcome.

Free Retreat Givewaway

We love you. And because we do, we're giving away another free retreat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

It would my first vacation in the mountains. I think getting away and beginning a new routine would be good for me and a friend. Dianne

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
