Fearlessness in Everyday Life: 5-Week Series

  • May 3 - 31, 2018 (29 days)
  • $200 Patron, $165 Sustaining, $110 Supporting

About us

As the path continues, we learn to work with anxiety, so that we are not blocked by fear. Through an exploration of the traditional Buddhist teachings of mind and the nature of reality, we learn to see clearly. We dare to face life and death as they are. The meditator, open to uncertainty, goes beyond hope and fear. We learn to open to groundlessness and uncertainty, learning to soar fearlessly like the mythical bird known as the Garuda.

This class will be an experiential presentation, rather than a scholarly one, using meditation to open to the groundlessness, uncertainty, and creativity of the world as it is. Each class allows for open discussion. Themes covered include groundlessness, impermanence and death, hope and fear, and the Mahayana teachings of emptiness and bodhicitta.

Pre-requisite: Joy in Everyday Life
Recommended: Shambhala Training Level III -OR- Basic Goodness Series Classes

Note: This class is a pre-requisite for Wisdom in Everyday Life

This is the fourth weekly course in our core study path, Way of Shambhala, which provides a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation. This series is designed to be applied to the complexity of our daily lives, and to develop courage and sanity in these troubled times of uncertainty. The entire series offers a structured path of meditation and an introduction to all that Shambhala offers. It also offers a glimpse of the Shambhala vision of enlightened society by emphasizing the ways in which meditation can impact our daily lives, and from there how the sanity of meditation can expand to impact our whole society.

Free Retreat Givewaway

We love you. And because we do, we're giving away another free retreat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I teach yoga part time and am a mom of two toddlers full time. I love my life, but goodness do I need a break. My husband and I have been putting off our wedding ceremony for 4 years because life has gotten in the way. We haven't had a single night alone since our family has grown. I wouldn't change a thing about our lives now, but it would be so wonderful to remember what it's like to 'just be us.' Antrim

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
