A city weekthun, or week-long practice intensive, is a unique opportunity to deepen one's meditation practice without going far from home. New and experienced meditators are welcome. This week of meditation will focus on sitting meditation with talks, meditation instruction, and contemplative lunches. During this week-long group meditation retreat, participants are introduced to and guided through the practice of sitting meditation. Each day consists of periods of sitting and walking meditation, chants, talks, and a short work session.
Participants are welcome to join for all or part of the weekthun. Should space become an issue, registration preference will be given to those who are participating in the entire weekthun.
The weekthun is a core requirement for several programs along the Shambhala path such as Shambhala Guide Training and Enlightened Society Assembly. Full participation in the city weekthun will count toward the weekthun requirement for these programs.
Prerequisite: none - everyone is welcome
If you're not attending the full week, use the Comments section on the registration page to let us know what day you wish to attend. If there are any questions, our registrar will be in touch!
If you have any questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Suggested donation: $350 for the week or $50 per day
Generosity Policy: Our Generosity Policy is an option for participants in unique situations for whom none of the above options are appropriate, and helps make programming available to all those who wish to participate. If the subsidized rate is prohibitive for you, the Generosity Policy allows you to offer as much of the fee as you can based on your individual circumstances. Please consider the value of the program and practice generosity at the level appropriate for you. To utilize the Generosity Policy, please email the Registrar at email@example.com before the program. We cannot accept Generosity Policy registrations at the door, so please make arrangements in advance.
