Shambhala Training Level II

About us

Having experienced a taste of basic goodness, we want to go forward. Meditation practice allows us to observe how we create a cocoon of habits to mask our fear. We begin to appreciate that there is no fundamental obstacle to experiencing basic goodness.

Prerequisite: Shambhala Training Level I

Generosity Policy applies: The Portland Shambhala Center does not wish restricted finances ever to interfere with one’s ability to receive the teachings. We offer a tiered pricing system in order to encourage all program participants to offer the most generous amount according to their situation. Our General Price reflects our actual costs for putting on programs. Our Generosity Policy expresses our commitment to make our programs available to all regardless of what one can pay.  For those who can offer more than the program price, we have a “patron price”. Your generosity in offering the patron price helps cover the costs for others who are not able to pay the full price. You can find out more on our website.

It can be beneficial for people to repeat classes they have taken in the past. To encourage and support this, we set the registration fee for "repeaters" at 50% of the Standard Price.

Free Retreat Givewaway

We love you. And because we do, we're giving away another free retreat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

My inspiration is a desire to gain a deeper connection to and understanding of myself, something that I've been working hard on for so long and will continue to do in the future. I view a retreat as a wonderful way to focus entirely on this without the distractions of every day life! Nicola

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
