Contentment in Everyday Life

About us

Contentment is hard to find. We usually think contentment is found in things, achievements or experiences. With meditation practice, we learn to appreciate ourselves and simple human experiences. In this Way of Shambhala course we begin to understand why experience is often habitual and full of discontent and suffering. And most importantly, we learn how difficult emotions and the challenges of life can be met with gentleness, steadiness and humor.

This course includes meditation instruction, talks, periods of meditation practice, discussion, and a variety of contemplative practice activities. A range of learning aids are used, including simple instructions, experiential exercises and strong community support.

This course is open to all.  No prerequisites.

To support the work of Open Sky, we suggest a contribution to help cover program expenses and overall maintenance. We are happy to accept an offering in any amount that you can afford, either above or below the suggested level. Your financial contribution is not necessary in order to take programs. It's important to our mission that everyone who's inspired to go forward on the Shambhala Buddhist path has our complete support. We are thankful no matter what level you can give, for it is your presence that will improve the health and well-being of our Center.  The suggested donation for this course is $50.
