Contentment in Everyday Life
- Berkeley Shambhala Meditation Center
- Berkeley, California
- May 16 - Jun 9, 2018 (25 days)
- $150 Program Price, $175 Patron Price, Or pay in accord with your circumstances
Contentment can be hard to find. Much of the time we search for contentment in things, achievements or relationships. With meditation practice, we relax with ourselves and appreciate simple human experiences. Difficult emotions and challenges of life can be met with gentleness, mindfulness and inquisitiveness, free from self-aggression.
Meditation experience is deepened through the cultivation of contentment and simplicity. We explore the foundational views of the hinayana Buddhist teachings and meditation in action for daily life. Through understanding the painful conditions and emotions that keep us trapped in habitual patterns, we can open to our inherent goodness and express the qualities of the Tiger: gentleness, appreciation and steadiness.
This class is open to all. Contentment in Everyday Life is the second in the series of five Way of Shambhala I classes and is the companion class to Shambhala Training Level II. Prior Shambhala meditation instruction, attendance at Shambhala Training Levels I & II and Meditation in Everyday Life are recommended but not required.
Please note: This class is highly recommended to proceed to the next class, Joy in Everyday Life.
This class is designed to be available to anyone in the Northern California Shambhala Region. The first three classes are online; final class in person.

The Berkeley Shambhala Center is funded solely by your membership and program donations. Thank you for your generosity as you consider what you can pay for each program at our Center. We strive to price our programs in a way that accurately reflects the financial need of our Center and the cost to us of producing the program.
We are committed to offering our programs to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. If you are unable to meet any of our listed pricing tiers please contact us to discuss your current needs. In addition to offering scholarship pricing for those in need, we also offer the option of paying for some programs in installments. Please use the “pay in accord with your circumstances” option when registering and enter the amount that you can offer.
What is the Patron Price?
The other aspect of our Generosity Policy is our Patron Price. Those who are able to offer more than the regular program price can select the Patron Price option. By selecting this option, your generosity is helping to cover the costs of those who may not be able to pay the full price of the program. Thank you for your consideration, and for helping all to receive the treasure of the Shambhala Dharma.
