Joy In Everyday Life
- Berkeley Shambhala Meditation Center
- Berkeley, California
- Jul 11 - Aug 4, 2018 (25 days)
- $150 Program Price, $175 Patron Price, Or pay in accord with your circumstances ($75 suggested minimum)
Joy in Everyday Life follows Contentment in Everyday Life in the Way of Shambhala class series. If you are also taking the Shambhala Training weekends, it expands the meditation experience of Shambhala Training Level III: Warrior in the World by cultivating the noble-heart of the mahayana teachings and opening the path to the virtue and celebration of compassion. Through practical methods, we further develop kindness toward ourselves and others. We emphasize the joy and invigoration that comes from discipline -- the qualities of cheerfulness, health, and freedom from doubt.
Please note: Joy in Everyday Life is required to proceed to the next class, Fearlessness in Everyday Life.
This class is designed to be available to anyone in the Northern California Shambhala Region. The first three classes are online; final class in person.
July 11, 18, 25 online & August 4 in person at Berkeley Shambhala
Primary readings for the class will be from the books: Ruling Your World and Turning the Mind into an Ally both by Sakyong Mipham; The Places that Scare You by Pema Chodron; Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior and Smile at Fear by Chogyam Trungpa.
Please contact our Way of Shambhala Executive Coordinator, Elena Oxman (wos [dot] execcoordinator [at] gmail [dot] com), if you have questions.
We appreciate you registering and paying online. This helps us not only to plan for the program, but speeds up the registration line on the day of the program.
The Berkeley Shambhala Center is funded solely by your membership and program donations. Thank you for your generosity as you consider what you can pay for each program at our Center. We strive to price our programs in a way that accurately reflects the financial need of our Center and the cost to us of producing the program.
We are committed to offering our programs to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. If you are unable to meet any of our listed pricing tiers please contact us to discuss your current needs. In addition to offering scholarship pricing for those in need, we also offer the option of paying for some programs in installments. Please use the “pay in accord with your circumstances” option when registering and enter the amount that you can offer.
What is the Patron Price?
The other aspect of our Generosity Policy is our Patron Price. Those who are able to offer more than the regular program price can select the Patron Price option. By selecting this option, your generosity is helping to cover the costs of those who may not be able to pay the full price of the program. Thank you for your consideration, and for helping all to receive the treasure of the Shambhala Dharma.
