Scorpion Seal Assembly: Year One

About us

Entering the Scorpion Seal path requires a strong samaya commitment to the living Sakyong, Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche, the lineage of Sakyongs, and an established commitment to ongoing practice and study. Participants will be asked to fulfill practice requirements after the Assembly and to make this the focus of their practice and study path for several years.

This commitment involves more than choosing an individual practice that we want to pursue. The Sakyong is asking the vajrayana community to join him in taking collective responsibility for manifesting this Shambhala terma and the precious legacy of the Vidyadhara for the benefit of our world. Participants must apply and be accepted to attend Scorpion Seal Assembly One.

Accommodations

Karme Choling strives to meet the housing requests of everyone attending Scorpion Seal Assemblies. Due to limited room and dorm space at both the main house and Ashoka Bhavan, priority goes to program staff, court staff, or people with physical and limitations and severe medical needs who have made arrangements well in advance.

If you have physical limitations or serious medical reasons for needing accommodation, please email guestservices@karmecholing.org with the subject line ‘Housing Exception for SSA

Alternatively, if you would like to guarantee indoor housing for yourself at this time, please seek accommodations off-site.

Here is a comprehensive list from our website of Local Accomodations https://www.karmecholing.org/visiting-us/accommodations/local-accommodations. Please scroll down to see a list of Local Guest Housing offered by sangha. We also have group rates at both the Comfort Inn (http://www.vermontvacationland.com/#gref) and Fairbanks Inn (http://www.stjay.com) both of which are in St Johnsbury, as well as Harveys Lake Cabins (http://harveyslakecabins.com/site/)

Program Staffing Opportunities

If you have already attended Scorpion Seal 1, we invite you to staff the assembly. It is so important to have the support of experienced practitioners when the Scorpion Seal is first opened for a new group. This is a wonderful opportunity to be in the presence of the Sakyong while refreshing your own connection to practice. If you would like to staff the assembly, please complete the application here.

In the event that we are not able to fully staff the assembly, we will open up the staffing to first time participants. Participant-staff receive a discount on tuition which varies dependent on staff role.

Arrival & Departure

Please plan on arriving between 3pm and 6pm on June 4, 2018 to check-in and register. Dinner is offered at 6:30pm. The program begins at 7:30pm. June 15, 2018 is departure day; you are free to leave at any time.

Free Retreat Givewaway

We love you. And because we do, we're giving away another free retreat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

After having just completed my RYT 200 I have been inspired to further my yoga journey and my own personal journey inward. I have fallen in love with yoga and how it has changed my life and I just want to continue to explore so I can share this beautiful gift with as many as possible. Jessica
