About us

Levels IV-V are the last two of the five levels of the highly acclaimed Heart of Warriorship training curriculum which provide a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation practice, emphasizing the development of genuineness, confidence, humor, and dignity within the complexity of daily life. This retreat is recommended for graduates of Levels I-III who wish to complete the

The simple and profound technique of mindfulness and awareness is the basis of a secular path of meditation, which can benefit people of any spiritual tradition and way of life. Shambhala Training is the study and practice of Shambhala warriorship - the tradition of human bravery, kindness, and leadership. This path shows how to take the challenges of daily life in our modern society as opportunities for both contemplative practice and social action.

Every Shambhala Training level includes thorough meditation instruction, periods of meditation practice, optional one-on-one meetings with a meditation instructor, talks by a senior teacher, group discussions, and contemplative movement exercises.

LEVEL IV - Awakened Heart

Having further awakened our minds and hearts in Shambhala Training Weekend III, we continue our journey by allowing our natural curiosity to show us more of our world outside the parameters of our usual fears.

In this program, we will explore a meditation practice that teaches us to apply the mind of meditation to the challenges of everyday life. With this expanded meditation practice, our lives become filled with more options, more potential, and more chances to see the world with confidence, patience, and generosity.

LEVEL V - Open Sky

In this fifth and final level of Shambhala Training, we learn to inhabit the gentleness, openness and precision of our true nature so that the present moment can unfold around us in all its vivid brilliance.

By softening our hearts and appreciating the sacredness of our experience, our life itself becomes a delightful source of wisdom and uplifted energy, like that of an open sky.

Shambhala Training Levels IV-V include:

• Guided meditation practice

• Mindfulness meditation talks by a senior teacher

• Group discussions

• Optional one-on-one meditation instruction

• Mindfulness movement exercises
