About us

"Yoga is not a work-out, it is a work-in. And this is the point of spiritual practice; to make us teachable; to open up our hearts and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are.” ― Rolf Gates

Namaha Yoga School was created to be a place of education, service, and community. It is a collective of different teachers from different paths and lineages who share a common belief that the teaching of Yoga is an offering and an act of Seva, or selfless service.

It’s based in Greece; and its mission is to create a place where the sacredness of Yoga is not forgotten. A place where Yoga is not a job, but a way to live one’s life and make this world we live in, a better place.

Namaha Yoga School is a registered school with Yoga Alliance. The school has a number of different programs, both online and in person; including Yoga Teacher Training in both 500 hours and 200 hours certification, and Yoga deepening courses for both the new and advanced students.

Jonni-Lyn Friel has been teaching Yoga since 2006 and is a RYT-500, E-RYT 200 and RPYT Jivamukti teacher based in Greece. In 2016 she founded Namaha Yoga School. She has taught numerous 200 hours training, where her love is to share the Bhagavad Gita and to teach service and compassion as a way to happiness and self-realization.

Jonni-Lyn knows Yoga to be sacred, healing, and powerful. This is how it has affected her life and spirit. Her greatest joy is to share her knowledge and pass on the teachings of her beloved teachers to others, in hope that it serves them in their lives.

A 200-hour yoga teacher training is the first level of certification to becoming a Yoga teacher.

Body, mind, and spirit are all a part of each whole person. Each one of these aspects of ourselves is discovered through our practice; learning how to be able to integrate them together to make the whole.

Physical Anatomy is learned in order to be comfortable with the different systems of the body and help to make informed choices when teaching different bodies in a different pose, and how you can help the students grow their Asana practice in a safe and progressive way.

Pranayama, or breath work, is a powerful and important part of the energetic system to be practiced and taught with clarity and full understanding of the importance and power of correct breathing.

This training will go through Yogic Philosophy; which is a vast and wonderful subject and no training would be complete without exploring all that it has to offer.  Both Vinyasa and Hatha yoga styles will be introduced during this program,

I love Jonni’s style. An integration of sweaty vinyasa style which I love, with philosophical concepts that help you move forward on and off the mat. She encourages you to relate your yoga practice with yourself, and walk the path of self improvement from the mat into the world. She is authentic, she speaks from personal experience and she has a great sense of humor. She is truly an inspiration! Tania Gatiana
