About us

Experience the Magic of an Ancient Spritiual Tradition

Astrologically aligned according to the moon calendar; this festival takes place over 9 nights and 10 days, twice a year in India.  It is said that 1 hour of meditation during this time is worth 100 hours due to the astrological configuration. Anuttara’s Navaratri Tantra Retreat is synchronized with the Navaratri festival in India; this heightens the energy force as we celebrate and meditate with thousands of others, in India and around the world.

Navararti is a celebration of the Godess Durga as an embodiment of the creative feminine energy (Shakti).

Through this retreat we channel the pure divine forces through the use of material elements (yantras, yagnas, mantras, samskara) in order to awaken these latent energies within us.

Guruji Raj Kumar an authentic Indian Guru of the tantric right-hand path will be conducting a similar practice in India at the same time and supporting us through our process in Canada.

In the Navaratri Tantra Retreat it is an option to take part in part or the whole retreat. The retreat is styled so that there are periods of silence for personal reflection which allows us to go inward and it also keeps the energy we are working to cultivate within ourselves from dispersing outwardly.

The practise we will perform is that of mantra meditation 3-4 times per day, of 1 to 2 hours of duration in each session.

We will build one living Yantra, on the first day, and will be empowering the yantra with mantras.

Participants will have one to three herbal body treatments (samskara) on the successive days.

There will be daily yagnas and on the second last day we will have a large feast and party inviting local friends to enjoy with us in the celebrations.

On the last day we will dismantle the yantra, and offer it to the Nass River.

Besides these aspects, we will be doing at least one yoga class per day, and the rest of the days will be spent in reflection, quiet walks, sitting in nature, etc...

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

To be more present and engaged in the world, to be of benefit to others. Vincent

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
