About This Event

Join Sarah Ezrin and friends on the journey of a lifetime into the Italian countryside.  The central region of Umbria is known as ‘il cuore verde d’Italia’, or Italy’s “green heart”, and it is of no coincidence that color of the heart chakra is also green. A retreat to this rich country is sure to fill your heart, your soul, and your belly!

During this week of yoga, pasta, and love, you will connect deeply with Italian culture, likeminded people, and most importantly, your own heart.  Mornings will begin with energizing flow practices, while the afternoons will be workshop-style, allowing you to delve deeper into poses you love! The retreat center is a luxury, boutique hotel in the green hills of Italy.  Prominently situated on a ridge which stretches into the center of the valley, the center commands fine views over its 28 gardens, terraced lawns and woodland. Indulge in extreme relaxation in the wellness center with its salt water swimming pool, jacuzzi spa and massage facilities. The chefs will spoil us with healthy and organic cuisine straight from center’s gardens. Day-trips to Gubbio, Perugia, Assisi and Cortona are all within easy reach and Siena, Florence and Rome are not too far.

A private chef will be on staff for our group all week to prepare meals. Organic tomatoes, salad leaves and vegetables are harvested from the kitchens very own garden. Dishes will include authentic Italian and Mediterranean influences including olive oil from the olive grove, aromatic herbs from the garden, yogurt, cakes and homemade breads.

At breakfast they offer a variety such as muesli, corn flakes, various seeds, prunes, homemade yoghurt, sliced meats on request, cheese, hard-boiled eggs, jams/preserves, home baked bread, fruit juices, coffee, tea, milk.

At lunchtime there will be grains, vegetable proteins, a choice of vegetables, fruit, homemade pizzas/focaccias and more.

At dinner time there will be a first course (pasta or soups), main course (vegetarian or meat based) with side dish, raw vegetables + dips and a dessert.

The Locanda del Gallo has 10 rooms all with private bathroom, each equally fresh and silent, each different from one another. The furnishings adorning every room were all hand-picked and brought back one by one from many distant journeys made by Paola and Irish, the owners of the Locanda del Gallo. There is no television, nothing to disturb the peace and tranquillity.

You will book your international ticket into and out of Fiumicino international airport in Rome (airport code: FCO).

Airport transfers are provided from Rome on the first and last day of the retreat. We recommend arriving in the morning of trip start and departing in the late afternoon of trip conclusion.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

My inspiration is a desire to gain a deeper connection to and understanding of myself, something that I've been working hard on for so long and will continue to do in the future. I view a retreat as a wonderful way to focus entirely on this without the distractions of every day life! Nicola
