About us

A unique summer week of guidance and instruction on meditations for finding peace and developing loving kindness.

Andrew Warr is an experienced practitioner and teacher, who has had a key role in developing our programme over the last two decades. We are delighted that Andrew is returning to lead this year’s special Summer Retreat, when for the first time we are offering meditation and loving kindness options consecutively, which can be experienced together or separately.

Dedicated support sessions for beginners will give the opportunity for clarification while more practice-oriented sessions will give those who are already familiar the space to deepen their experience.

The retreat is being offered in three options.

Attending the full retreat you will have the opportunity to establish the ground of meditation before moving on to the meditations and contemplations of loving kindness practice. For those with limited time, the short options offer complete opportunities to experience meditation or loving kindness practice.

FULL RETREAT OPTION (Fee €450 / Concession €360): If you wish to attend the full retreat please email the administration team here or phone + 353 (0) 27 73032.

MEDITATION OPTION 1 (Fee €280 / Concession €245): The first part of the retreat will focus primarily on meditation for allowing the mind to settle and be more at ease and at peace.  This will include meditations using the senses which can be particularly joyful in the natural beauty of Dzogchen Beara.

LOVING KINDNESS OPTION 2 (Fee €280 / Concession €245): The second part of the retreat will focus primarily on the classical meditation for cultivating loving kindness which helps us to find more warmth in how we relate to both ourselves and to others.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

To find peace and renewal while going through a huge change in my life. Empty nest and the end of a 27 year marriage all at once. Susan

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
