About us

“Creativity is inseparable from the fabric of Being,” say Roma Hammel and Chris Smith. Join a master embodiment teacher and a gifted pianist for a retreat that blends simple, profound meditations with musical explorations. During the workshop, you can discover how authentic intimacy can spontaneously arise from inner stillness and yield extraordinary creativity. Roma’s teachings and gentle presence can awaken participants to a luminous space and unveil the vibrancy and sensuality of their true nature. Attuned to this vast inner realm through subtle vibrations, Chris uses the piano to transpose discordant emotions into sensory-rich musical imagery.

“This work is driven by an integrated, body-centered approach to spiritual awakening called the Realization Process. This involves no doctrine and no ideologies, just gentle guidance to vitalize the breath, inhabit the body, and open the flow of energy centers. Explore connection and disconnection to yourself and others through nonverbal dyadic work, movement, and dialogue. Practice releasing limiting somatic patterns and allow your humanness to be permeated by your essential creative nature — all in the midst of Esalen’s wild beauty. After the retreat, you can take home new practices that deepen your connection to the source of creativity.”
