About This Event

Plant identification for Everyone!

This class is for anyone interested in learning to identify the plants local to the Grass Valley foothills area. Classes will be held at various field locations and focus on plant and plant family identification as well as mastering the use of a field guide. Students will also learn to distinguish certain local plant species that have medicinal and other useful purposes.

You may bring any field guide you wish to use. Amy will be referencing Thomas J. Elpel’s book, Botany in a Day, which you can check out and bring a copy of if you like (not required). Also, bring a hand lens if you have one.

Please meet at The Wild Temple classroom in Grass Valley. We will caravan to each field location promptly at 5:15pm, so please arrive early! Dress according to the weather and bring whatever you will need to spend 2 hours outside (water, snacks, sun/bug protection, etc).

Write a review - tell others about your experience.

Thank you!
