Welcome to Springfield Castle, the ancestral home of Lord and Lady Muskerry. The castle is situated in the heart of County Limerick on a magical 200 acre wooded estate and is approached along a magnificent three quarter mile long avenue, lined with ancient lime trees.  . A place to unwind and relax whilst on your luxury Irish castle stay.

Join Caroline in her beloved Ireland. As she combines her passion for yoga and her native land. Yoga retreats in Ireland was just a dream and now has become a reality with many return guests.

It is truly a retreat like no other!.

Days spent practicing Yoga in a 15 century tower on heated slate floors. Walks among the ancient lime trees or a meditation in the forest in a magical space created .

 This retreat is for everyone. Those with a yoga practice or for those that might just want time away. Guests have joined us that have never taken a yoga class or a hike. One of our past guests started her yoga practice at the young age  of 76  .Returning the following year to lead the hike across the Wicklow mountains.

Caroline wants all her guests to do as they please! Creating a retreat that she would personally go on.

From the field to the fork ! You can watch your vegetables being picked. 

There are two beautiful sitting rooms in the Castle with wood burning fireplaces. If you feel like  an afternoon with a book or just exploring the Castles magnificent antiques they are yours to discover.

The kitchen never closes , the kettle is always on the boil.

Late night chats with an Irish Coffee or an early night are at your discretion.

Joining this retreat you  will make friendships that you might never have!. Meeting women from around the world. Love and lots of laughter guaranteed.

                Frank Mac Courts book and tour. Frank Mac Court won the Pulitzer Prize for his book                 Angela's Ashes. A copy of the book and the tour will be gifted to our guests.

               Springfield Castle is a family home. All the bedrooms are individual.

               As much as possible and within season. The  vegetables are from the Castle garden.                      Prepared by with Love by our chef and grower.

Schedule

Start your morning with a light snack in one of the castle kitchens. The kitchens are stocked with fruit and teas at all times.

9.30am morning practice in the 15th centaury Tower with on a heated slate floor.
11.30 am brunch .Made by the castle chef with local ingredients. Vegetables from the castle garden when in season.

Afternoon walk or book discussion in one of the sitting rooms.
5.30 PM Yoga class .
7.00pm Dinner in one of the fine dining halls.
Late night walk among the stars or a fire ceremony weather permitting.

Menu/Cuisine

Our menu is all inclusive. We hope to cater to everyone's dietary needs .
Local foods are showcased when available.
Daniel and Ali the chef’s and gardeners run the walled garden and grow lots of fresh fruit and vegetables year round from which they create beautiful and tasty mouth watering meals, preserves, pickles, fermented foods and sauces.

Accommodations

The Bedrooms are fit for a queen. Four poster beds with beautiful views over the courtyard .On a clear day you can see the Galtee Mountains in the next county.
Three rooms in the tower with winding staircase and own bathrooms.
Only two guests sharing in our twin rooms.


Baroness’s Room

The Baroness’s room with it’s rich colours and fabrics overlooks the lawns to the west of the castle. It has a 5ft (queen) half tester bed and an en-suite bathroom which has a gigantic bathtub with hand held shower.



Baron’s Room

The Baron’s room is a beautifully light room with a 6 ft (king sized) four poster bed. The windows overlook the front of the castle with a great view of the mature trees (sometimes the herd of red deer can be seen grazing in the field) and along the avenue. It has a spacious en-suite bathroom with a walk in shower and a free standing slipper bath as well as a sofa.


The garden Room

The Garden room on the ground floor is a lovely airy room with a 5ft [Queen) bed. The beautiful fern pattern fabric in the curtains is taken from a design by the early 20th century American interior designer, Elsie de Wolfe. There is a very large en-suite tiled shower room.


The Grey Room

The Grey bedroom, also at the front of the castle, is an elegant coloured room with a very high ceiling. This is a twin room. Sharing with one other guest.
It has its own shower, toilet and sink.

The first floor tower room features a fine brass 4 poster bed (5′) and has a lovely bathroom with a Victorian style slipper bath with views over the walled gardens and courtyard fountain. It also has a large balcony overlooking the herb garden.

Directions

Flights to Dublin Airport are daily .Transportation is arranged to the Castle if you wish.
