A Life of Balance retreat

About This Event

A week of discoveries for yoga, food and wine lovers

This week is about balance. Martine Bounet is a Yoga instructor and Wine professional and in this retreat she combines her two big passions. On one hand, the yoga and meditation will bring you closer to the Self, on the other we do not forget to have fun and play also, to enjoy and indulge ourselves.

Martine Bounet will take you through the daily yoga and meditation. The yoga she teaches is Hatha, combining the precision of Iyengar with the dynamism of Ashtanga, including Pranayama, Asanas, meditation techniques and yogic activities.

To reflect Martine’s special interest on some specific Yoga aspects, you will be offered the opportunity to deepen your understanding on topics such as the Chakras and Ayurveda through focused workshops. Insights of Ayurvedic cooking will also be provided with a great cooking demo at Abing, a reputed Ayurvedic center.

But Martine is also a real wine professional and enjoys combining great food and great wines. During the week, this aspect will come to play as well. You will be joining her for a wine tasting master class to get insights and learn tips and tricks in Ubud’s best wine cellar. To put all the wine and food pairing tips to test, the master class will be followed by a gastronomic dinner in a casual fine dining restaurant.

Add to all of the above the many other exciting activities we have in store for you and you are in for a week of perfect balance!

If you have a chance just do it...

Follow Your Dreams was the second ONEWORLD Retreat I have attended and I loved every bit of both of them. The beautiful accomodation & the delicious food (better than the pictures), the massages, the ever smiling ever helpful staff were all wonderful. Wayan & Iyan's skilful yoga instructions were appreciated however i especially enjoyed the restorative yoga sessions of an evening when sometimes we were sweetly sung to.. The rice field walk and the Purification ritual at Tirta Empul temple were very special and will be long remembered. Like some others I didn’t have a dream however Claude gently guided us to find one ( or three). With Metta Gwenda

Perfect rest for body and soul

It was the first time for me traveling alone as a woman for a holiday - and it certainly belongs to the best decisions I ever took.Being in desperate need of "escaping the world" I arrived at the Kumara and immediately felt like being home. A breathtaking place with outstanding service, absolutely delicious food and a gorgeous spa experience. Yoga classes with Iyan and Wayan started and ended the days filled with tours around Bali, spa treatments and relaxing time at the pool or in lively Ubud, just a short march away. And if you ever thought about particpating in a silent retreat - here's the chance to give it a test: One day of silence and digital detox as a part of the programme was a wonderful experience to calm down my mind and simply enjoy the moment. All reasons enough for a second visit I took - and hopefully more to come!

      Escape the World

A most beautiful experience; from the moment you arrive until you eventually have to leave, the peacefulness and the calmness of the residence stays with you and you become lighter and brighter with every breath. Everything is first class; from the gorgeous lodgings to the yoga shala, from the beauty treatments to the delicious food and from every staff member to every retreat activity. I've loved this retreat twice so far, I can see plenty more on the horizon. Namaste :)

A Hidden Oasis Away from Downtown Ubud

The resort of ONEWORLD retreats, Kumara Sakti, is tucked away a few kilometres off downtown Ubud. Who would believe that such a short distance would give two different worlds - bustling Ubud with its traffic and at times chaos whereas Kumara Sakti and its surroundings are so peaceful and calming. Once you entered the precinct, each team members you encountered would genuinely smile at you. It is such a humbling experience. I was lucky to participate in a special yoga session during the International Day of Yoga last year. Not just retreat leaders and retreat participants, the whole team took part! The atmosphere was unbelievable. Iyan led the session with Wayan assisting. Even those who had never done yoga were at ease. The two men really went their way to ensure everyone was challenged yet comfortable at their own pace. Thank you for a great memory. ONEWORLD retreats certainly has set a high standard in their service.

Thank you!

We're glad you've joined our retreat community. See you around :)

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I am an oncology nurse and a few long time patients have died recently. I need to rejuvenate and return to my breath! Elizabeth
