Yoga is the Union of physical body and your higher self. The essence of this retreat is to expand the horizons of yoga and learn the process of working with the physical and subtle body (including energy centers) to bring about holistic (physical, emotional, spiritual) well-being. The Chakra system is the framework to achieve this, combining a unique traditional asana practice with colors, mantras and visualization techniques.
Chakras are seven energy centers in our bodies though which prana, life force, flows. Each center is responsible for different areas of our well-being including physical, emotional health, mental strength, compassion, expression, connectedness to self and the universe. Mainstream yoga teaching today is predominantly focused on physical asana, while traditional yoga practices emphasize on bringing balance on all levels, and aiming to reach higher levels of consciousness.
Chakras-based Yoga uses a unique combination of a physical yoga practice, combined with mantra (voice) and color visualization to work on the seven centers. These work together to open up the energy centers.
This retreat is designed for two categories of participants: On one hand, the yoga enthusiasts who have some yoga asana practice and are looking to go beyond thatto learn a new techniquefor a holistic approach of yoga, addressing all aspects of well-being. And on the other hand, the yoga teachers who wish to learn and apply new techniques to advance their yoga teaching.
