IAM Yoga 300 Hour Advanced Teacher Training

About us

To understand the future of Yoga, you first have to become deeply intimate with not only an advanced understanding of its origins, but also a critical understanding of the present state of the tradition and how this will influence the future of this rich practice. As a result this training begins with an in-depth study of Yoga History & Philosophy. You will critically examine how Yoga relates to modern issues of oppression, sexuality, power structures, meaning structures, psychological stability, and mental health. You will study neuro-anatomy as it relates to mindfulness practices like Yoga and Meditation, which will encourage you to deeply explore the role of yoga in developing and maintaining optimal mental health. You will also explore Trauma Sensitive Yoga protocols as well as “Mindfulness Studies” as they relate to the development of meaning in life, flow states, and “enlightenment.”

This training will provide you with a contemporary “Operating Manual” for the relationship between your mind and body; you will emerge from this training with a new perspective on what it means to practice and teach yoga in the modern world. You will explore advanced sequencing techniques, advanced anatomy, as well as the role of the Yoga Teacher, and you will be provided with the necessary experiential and research-based tools and education that will foster the spiritual and moral growth that is critical in the development of any serious student or teacher.

Directions

Kalani offers shuttle service from Hilo International Airport (ITO), which can be arranged via Kalani Guest Services, reservations@kalani.com or 808.965.0468. Please send flight details, including airline carrier and flight number with your shuttle request. We also pick up from the downtown Hilo bus station and hotels. Shuttle service is subject to availability; one-way pricing is $50 per person for shared rides and $75 per person for single bookings. If you require airport shuttle service, please contact us to make your reservation a minimum of one week in advance.

Taxi service is available from ITO or Hilo Downtown for a one-way fare of approximately $125.
