Basic Space Meditation Intensive
About This Event
Our traditional zazen intensives, such as sesshin, are carefully planned and scheduled to help practitioners develop inner and outer meditative strength and stability. Yet, when the schedule and structure falls away—at home, after the intensive is over—you may find it challenging to maintain your clarity of purpose and practice.
The Basic Space retreat provides a powerful atmosphere for exploring and developing self-directed practice. The morning’s schedule offers the support of a traditional intensive. In the afternoon and evening, the structure of the schedule lifts, allowing you to discover the power of practicing according to your own rhythms and deepest aspiration.
This intensive is for those who have previously done zazen intensives within the MRO. Having done zazenkai or sesshin before, what happens when the schedule is loosened? Basic Space is perfect for those who are interested in doing a hermitage, or for those who may be unable to follow a full sesshin schedule. Hojin Sensei will offer face-to-face teaching as well as short, impromptu teachings in the zendo.
You can arrive either Thursday or Friday between 4-6pm.
Because of the intensive nature of this retreat, please call the Training Office to register: (contact info blocked).
