AIM OF 200-HOUR PROGRAM This course is intended for:

- The committed practitioner of yoga who wishes to deepen their personal practice

- The serious student interested in building a firm foundation to teach yoga

- Yoga teachers from all schools seeking understanding of authentic principles of yoga

- Yoga teachers fulfilling Yoga Alliances continuing education requirements

- Anyone interested in a base for the Svastha Yoga therapy program

OUTCOME On successful completion of this course, students will have:

- An understanding of the principles of the science of yoga and an introduction to Ayurveda

- Developed a comprehensive knowledge of the theory of asanas, pranayama and meditation - Acquired the ability to teach yoga in a safe, effective and confident manner

- Obtained the tools to enact positive changes in their own lives and to provide the same guidance for others

- The opportunity to be a part of a community of people who are similarly committed to a path of personal growth and transformation

- Yoga Theory and Philosophy based on the Yogasutras of Patanjali

- Sanskrit Terminology

- Chanting - Theory and Practice of Essential Asanas

- Modifying and Adapting Postures for Therapeutic Application

- Sequencing Postures & Classes

- The Role of Surya Namaskara

- Theory and Practice of Pranayama and Bandhas

- The Theory and Practice of Meditation

- Yoga Anatomy and Physiology

- Ayurveda

- Establishing a Personal Practice and Healthy Lifestyle

PROGRAM FACULTY: Monique Parker, E-RYT, Martha Flanders, Raquel Moncada, and Carrie Leven

PROGRAM STRUCTURE AND TIMING

- Our 200-hour residential program will be held at The Mandala Center in Des Moines, NM

- The Mandala Center program will be delivered in 3 modules of 8 nights/9 days

- Program includes classes integrating techniques

- Includes a one-hour private session with the Program Director

- Additional web-based videos and guided home study

- A regular home practice is encouraged to establish reinforce the teachings

- The Mandala Center Program dates: February 7-15, May 30-June 6, and Sept 19-27, 2015
