Swastha Yoga International is an integrated yoga teacher training program rooted in the practice of Yoga, based in science of Ayurvedic Medicine, and expanded through Human Potential growth and transformation principles. With this holistic approach, we cultivate practices that increase health and wellness on ALL levels of our Being. This program is an approved 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified school (RYS). Together, the teachers have over 30 years of teaching experience, are E-RYT 500, YACEP, and C-IAYT qualified through Yoga Alliance and International Association of Yoga Therapy respectively. Upon completion of the program, our graduates are eligible to apply for 200 hr Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) status by contacting yogaalliance.org for registration.

This is an Intensive Training Immersion Program that goes well beyond the typical training topic of physical postures, anatomy, and alignment, and has a strong personal development aspect. It has the potential to provide you with the tools for powerful, effective and sustainable changes through your willingness to being a student and trusting the process. If you are not open to, nor interested in, truly reflecting on your behaviours and patterns, then this program may not be a fit for you at this time.

Venue HighlightsPeace Retreat is a unique learning and wellness center located along the stunning Pacific coastline, called the Gold Coast, in the Province of Guanacaste, in the Northwest region of Costa Rica. Visitors at Peace Retreat experience an atmosphere centered in love, respect for the environment, personal development, and a dedication to the healing power of yoga and wellness practices.
ScheduleEach day will be an immersion into our asana practice, meditation, yoga philosophy, alignment principles, anatomy, practice teaching, Swastha Yoga methodology, and personal development work.
Your days will be full during program, beginning at approximately 6:30 am and ending at approximately 8:00-10:00 pm each day. It is important to note the program is an organic process and as such the schedule is subject to change.
A typical day will look like:
6:00am – personal meditation and sequence practice
6:15am - breakfast
7:00am – meditation / asana practice
10:30am - posture clinics
11:30am – lunch and break
1:00pm – development workshops, group discussion
3:30pm – break
4:00pm – practice teaching, group discussion
5:30pm – dinner
6:30pm (to 8:00-10:00 pm) – group discussion, partner/ activities
All sessions are mandatory. It is your responsibility to make sure you are prepared and on-time for each session every day of the program.
Menu/CuisineThe venue, Peace Retreat, prioritizes guests’ health, preserving the environment, and supporting the local economy and culture. As such, we buy local, organic (when available), and in-season produce and animal products. We also use traditional Costa Rican ingredients to introduce guests to the local culture of Costa Rica.
Three meals a day are included in your program tuition, beginning with dinner on the first day and ending with breakfast on the last day. The menu includes delicious, locally-prepared daily meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu has been selected to provide nourishing, healthy and delicious meals to support you.
