Centering Prayer: That We May Be One
About This Event
So that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us. John 17:21
This retreat is for anyone seeing deeper practice of Centering Prayer
Fr. Thomas Keating describes Centering Prayer as the keystone of a comprehensive commitment to Scriptural Spirituality, manifesting as a deepening union with Christ, and practical caring for others. This way of praying in silence opens our hearts and minds to consent to God’s presence and action within, beyond words, responding to the call of the Holy Spirit.
This retreat will include periods of Centering Prayer, spiritual teachings from Thomas Keating’s recent DVDs, That We May Be One, exploration of methods to extend the effects of Centering Prayer into daily life, and private time for rest, study, and prayer. We will keep silence apart from discussions during teaching. There will be an opportunity for instruction for those new to this prayer practice. All are welcome.
