DirectionsKoh Chang is Thailand’s second biggest island after Phuket, and it is located in the far east of the Gulf Of Thailand near to the border with Cambodia.
For many years, as tourism increased in the rest of the country, Koh Chang remained surprisingly undiscovered despite the noticeable appeal of its rocky mountains, an inland of jungle and abundant waterfalls and its many west coast beaches. Koh Chang now attracts western and eastern tourists, as well as local nationals from all over Thailand, but still maintains its charm and tranquil nature.
If you take public transport you will look at a full days travel from Bangkok via mini bus and ferries. It’s a long journey but if you leave from Bangkok in the morning, you’ll be enjoying a sunset cocktail with your toes deep in the sand on the same evening.
To fly, Trat Airport is the closest airport and from there you will simply need a 30 minute ferry ride to reach Koh Chang.
