About This Event
Our bike tour will explore the some of the most important archaeological sites of Greece, including Epidaurus and Mycenae in the Peloponnese or Peloponnesus - a peninsula and geographic region in southern Greece. Its morphology varies from mountains with gorges and rivers to coastlines and endless beaches with crystal blue waters. It is an ideal destination for adventure activities, agro tourism and wine lovers in one of the most important Greek viticulture regions.
Greece enjoys more than 250 days of sunshine a year. Cycling on the mainland or the islands can be fun, demanding or challenging. Mountain biking on the Greek mountains is an adventure that you will remember for a life time. There are numerous kilometers of bike routes within deep forests, National Parks and the countryside suitable for any level. In addition the established infrastructure and the hospitality of the locals will soon make Greece top of the list for your next cycling adventure. Greece is an awesome country all year round. We want to share its beauties with you but most of all we want to share our passion for cycling and exploring, for a trip that you will remember for a lifetime.

DAY 1 : Meet and assist at Athens International Airport or pick up from your hotel in Athens. Driving to Epidaurus where we will begin the cycling week in Greece. Epidaurus is located 133km from Athens; approximately 1 1/2 drive and consider being one of the most important cities of Ancient Greece. As soon as we arrive we start cycling with a small tour around this beautiful seaside city and then towards Lygourio at a distance of 13km. A bit further is the archeological site of Sanctuary of Asklepios, which is the most important Sanctuary of ancient Greece and one of a kind ancient theatre of Epidaurus. We load our gear and heading to Nafplio were will be our base for the next two days. Arrival at Nafplio, check in into our hotel and later dinner in our favorite restaurant.
DAY2: Enjoy your breakfast in our hotel. After the safety briefing we grab our gear and we start pedaling around the city. Our first stop will be the Nafplio Annex of the Greek National Gallery. Then we continue towards the famous Constitutional Square where we pay a visit to the Archeological Museum located in an imposing building of the 18th century. A free time for personal moments will be available. Then we start our grand cycling tour. About eight (8) km further we stop to visit the Archaeological Site of Tiryns. We continue with non-stop cycling through villages and many orange and lemon trees. We end up our ride at a local winery where we will have a tour around its facilities; we will taste magnificent Greek wines and feel the Greek hospitality. We will continue our tour towards a local fish tavern to enjoy a meal by the sea. Return to Nafplio by car. The rest of the day is free for personal moments around the city.
DAY3: Breakfast with delicious local products and Greek coffee will be the first thing we do the next morning. After that, pure cycling heading towards to one of the most important Archeological sites in Greece: The ruins of the ancient city of Mycenae, the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon. It is the Mycenaean civilization that dominated the eastern Mediterranean world from the 15th to the 12th century BC. The city is indissolubly linked to the Homeric epics, the “Iliad” and the “Odyssey”, which have influenced European art and literature for more than three millennia. Return to Nafplio. Dinner in our favorite restaurant.
DAY4: Breakfast in our hotel and check out. We move by car to Kalamata, our next base. As soon as we arrive we start our ride alongside the coastal part of the city moving towards the countryside. We pass through Kalamata’s city centre and we continue to the suburbs. After passing a number of villages and olive groves, gradually climbing towards the beautiful Voulcanou Monastery and soon after we reach our destination, the archeological site of ancient Messini, where we get a tour in this important place of Ancient Greece. Return to Kalamata by car. Free afternoon.
DAY5: We enjoy and today we pedal to meet some of the most beautiful beaches of the area. The road along the coast from Kardamili to Trahila is 20 km long, with very few slopes offers a relaxing ride. We get the chance to see a number of beaches some of them considering to be the best of Peloponnese, as well as the sea sided villages of Stoupa, Aghios Nikolaos and Trahila. It is also possible to stop at any beach we choose and enjoy swimming. Later we take the same road back to Kardamili and then return in our hotel in Kalamata. Complimentary dinner later to celebrate the last day of our tour.
DAY6: Enjoy breakfast until late and then check out of our hotel. We begin our return trip to Athens through the Corinth Canal where we will have a coffee break. For those who dare they can try a bungee jumping from the bridge that connects the canal. Return at Athens late afternoon.

Please note spring and autumn are the best times as it is not too hot.
Cancelation/changes/no show policy:
1) Once you book your place / pay there are no refunds. It is a serious commitment to take part in the retreat. You should honor that and so will we.
2) If you can't make it to a selected retreat you can:
a) find somebody else until 7 days before the start date, no extra fee required
b) no shows with no notice equals in 100% fee loss.
3) If we cancel the retreat for any reason you will receive a full refund within 2 to 8 weeks.
