Who says a yoga retreat has to be serious? That hard work shouldn’t be rewarded with a little bit of celebration? After all, don’t we all feel a little more free to be our authentic selves when harmonizing wellness with some of life’s most satisfying indulgences?

We are all about that balance, baby. This week is devoted to you and your precious self, to reshuffle your priorities, putting yourself at the top of your list. Each day on retreat we offer a theme and a journal prompt in alignment with that theme to dig a little deeper into your yoga practice, on and off the mat. (We provide you with a beautiful journal on arrival). The daily theme aligns with that days activity, and provides a structure for your transformation and growth throughout the retreat.

Join us for a 7 day all-inclusive yoga and meditation retreat at Faasai Resort and Spa in beautiful Chanthaburi, Thailand. Practice yoga at sunrise, meditate at sunset, connect with nature, surround yourself with an inspiring community of people, eat delicious Thai vegetarian cuisine, drink ice cold beer on the beach, laugh often, and (most importantly) rediscover your happy place.

We will practice yoga twice daily on retreat. The morning practices last for approximately 90 minutes and are a more dynamic, active practice, focussing on vinyasa and hatha styles. The evening practices are more restorative, gentle sessions incorporating longer holds, pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation. We make sure each class is accessible to beginners. We aim to teach to the middle line and offer adjustments/modifications for people new to yoga or people who have been practicing for some time and would like a little challenge. It doesn’t matter if you think you aren’t flexible or strong enough – this yoga is for everybody, and every body.

Venue Highlights

Kung Wiman area is a paradise for nature lovers with bush walks, swimming, snorkeling, and gentle rolling hills, ideal for running or cycling, with views of the sea, rubber plantations, salt farms, markets, orchards and fishing villages.

You will have plenty of opportunity to explore the seaside village of Kung Wiman on foot or by bicycle. We picnic on the beach, cycle to viewpoints and through the fisherman’s village, and cycle to Chao Lao Beach on one of our excursions. We also visit local markets so you can immerse yourself in small-town Thai culture and purchase any goodies to take home with you.

The nearby Cardamom mountains, named after the cardamom trees which grow there, make up Southeast Asia’s last great wilderness.

Menu/Cuisine

The food on our Balance Retreat is all prepared with love by our Thai chef Sura. She prepares hearty Thai vegetarian meals, so you can be sure you will sample the best of traditional Thai food. Post-yoga brunch is a buffet affair, with something different every day – pancakes, omelettes, veggie scramble, Pad Se Ew thick noodles with vegetables, fresh seasonal fruits, strong coffee, herbal teas, fresh juice, cereal and toast with a variety of spreads. In the middle of the day we provide fresh fruit smoothies and a snack (depending on what is in season) and for dinner we have sit-down family-style meal, with an assortment of Thai favourites on the menu. All ingredients are sourced either from Faasai’s organic gardens or farm, or from local suppliers, wherever possible.

We can accommodate any dietary requirements with advance notice.

Despite many people’s fears that a vegetarian diet won’t fill them up – we’ve never had anyone go hungry. Sura loves to feed us!

Accommodations

Faasai Resort and Spa has 14 beautiful rooms decorated in traditional Thai style, with all the western luxuries your little heart desires. From individual ensuite bungalows on stilts with a private balcony, to private rooms in large villas with a view over the resort, you will be very comfortable. All rooms include air conditioning, hot showers, a fridge, tea & coffee making facilities, outdoor seating area and plenty of space for quiet time.

TRANSFER SHUTTLE:
We can offer you a pick up service from Bangkok to the resort for 3000 THB (approx 90USD).

DRIVING: Faasai Resort and Spa is a peaceful coastal haven only 220 kilometres to the southeast of Bangkok or about three hours by car. The quiet garden resort is only ten minutes walk from Kung Wiman beach and a good base for exploring the beaches and mountains of Chanthaburi. The nearest airport is Suvanabhumi, Bangkoks international airport, about two and a half hours away, which has buses going directly to Chanthaburi. It is a good alternative to the other eastern beaches of Ko Chang or Pattaya, as it is closer than Ko Chang and quieter than Pattaya.We can arrange transport to and from the resort by taxi or private van. Alternatively there are regular bus services with buses leaving almost every hour from Bangkok. If you are driving from Bangkok, take the eastern motorway to Bang Na, then Ban Bueng before turning into highway 344 to Klaeng and Chanthaburi. At Klaeng turn left into highway 3 and then 32 kilometres past Klaeng turn right into highway 3399 which will take you to Kung Wiman beach. You will see Faasai on the right 300 metres before you reach the sea.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT:

The buses to Chanthaburi leave from the airport at 8.10, 15.30, 16.10, 16.55, 18.40
If you ask information at the airport they will direct you to the buses.
The airport extension for more information is 9907.
You can take the commuter train from the airport to the city. It takes about 30 minutes to travel the 28 kilometers (17 miles) and it links with both the Subway (MRT) and Skytrain (BTS) systems in Bangkok. You can take the BTS to Ekkamai where it stops right by the eastern bus terminal. We will pick you up in Chanthaburi!
