Rise of the Divine Feminine Egypt Retreat January 2019

  • Luxor, Luxor Governorate, Egypt
  • Jan 14 - 21, 2019 (8 days)
  • £895

Event Highlights

  • Offering a great blend of yoga and meditation, together with visits to amazing ancient Egyptian temples and sacred sites and even some time left over for fun activities like a belly dancing class and stimulating spiritual discussions over dinner, we doubt there is anything else quite like it.
  • We even sneak in an optional hot balloon ride over the river Nile and Valley of the Kings for the more adventurous spirits amongst us.
  • This is no ordinary site seeing trip to Egypt. We DO visit temples, of course, because they are fabulous but we focus on relaxation and spiritual health, alongside offering quality, authentic Egyptian cuisine, with a vegetarian and vegan twist; the best of both worlds.
  • We don’t believe spiritual adventures should be expensive either , so we think you will be pleasantly surprised at the great value for money that this retreat offers.

Day One

Arrival at Luxor International Airport from your home location, either as a group or individually, to suit your personal needs. We can assist you with flight booking and car sharing to Heathrow as part of the booking process. Expect to pay around £400 for a return flight London Heathrow to Luxor, as an example. Visas are additional and cost £20/ $25.

Air conditioned minibus transfer to the east bank of the Nile River. From here, we will continue by boat across the Nile, as our driver escorts our luggage to the West Bank by road. This will be our first experience of the magic that is the sacred Nile.

Transfer to our home for the next 7 days, with a Welcome Dinner, where we begin to get to know each other and set the scene for our special time in Khem. Our accommodation in exclusive use of a large property on the outskirts of the central west bank area and is only available to spiritual and healing groups of travellers.

Day Two

Yoga with our dedicated yoga teacher and therapist, Vaishali Patel (optional, of course, and suitable for all levels) and meditation in the gardens of our retreat accommodation, followed by a sumptuous buffet breakfast.

Following breakfast, we will travel by motorboat back across the Nile to visit Karnak Temple, the largest open air museum in the world. There will be ample time here for an initial group orientation, plus individual discovery time. A series of pre recorded MP3 audio files will assist with maximizing the benefits of the healing available in this space so please bring your phone.

Lunch in the locality of Karnak temple, followed by a felucca experience, as we drift down the Nile in the mid afternoon and take tea as we absorb the spectacle of this magical place.

Return to our centre for relaxation and discussion in the afternoon.

The evening sees us entering into discussion centered around the Karmic feminine experience (MP3 audio to explain the context in advance so participants are as pre informed and engaged as possible). Please note that we can provide a CD for anyone who is not computer literate but still wishes to participate in the preparatory work, which is intended to maximize the effects of this programme but is entirely optional.

Day Three

Sees us enjoying an early start with a packed picnic breakfast en route to Abydos Temple. Situation approximately 1.5 hours from Luxor, this drive provides an excellent opportunity to take in the sights of authentic rural Egyptian life, as well as the desert landscape.

Abydos is Debrahs’ personal favourite temple, where we will visit the almost unbelievable ancient hieroglyphs of helicopters, sub marines and flying saucers, as well as the Osirion, where the ancient symbol of the Flower of Life can be found, etched in the granite columns by what scientists declare is an advanced laser, not currently available in our own apparently advanced technological world.

After some rest and refreshments in a local café, we continue by road to the magnificent and very different Temple of Dendara, which is dedicated to feminine energies and fertility.

Both sacred sites today provide further ample opportunity for group and individual space and healing, with the aid of the MP3 audio programme, as desired.

Returning from our fabulous road trip in the late afternoon, there is time to rest up and restore before some yoga to stretch out the journey and dinner together.

Our group discussions this evening will centre around our personal fertility and abundance and our blocks and inner sabotage of this.

Day Four

Yoga and meditation in the gardens, followed by a group breakfast and some scene setting for the day ahead.

This morning, we head out once again to the East Bank and Luxor Temple, this time enjoying the experience of taking the local ferry.

Much smaller than its sister at Karnak, the temple is still well worth visiting and provides a great space to relax in the café and watch the world go by.

Following this, we will make a visit to Luxor museum, for those who are interested, or enjoy an hour of soaking up the local shopping experience, if not.

Returning to our home, there is time to relax and enjoy the sunshine this afternoon, as we share and allow ourselves to heal.

The evening sees us return to Karnak for the world renown Sound and Light show, followed by dinner in the nearby Souk or market place. Here we can have some fun, as we haggle and bargain our way through the shops.

Day Five

An optional early start this morning, for those wishing to experience a hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings. This truly is a once in a lifetime experience, which will forever be etched in the memories and hearts of everyone. As a veteran myself of over a dozen such flights, Debrah says that there is no better way to rise up in your feminine power than through the ceremony of physically taking flight here.

After the flight, we will we all join together back at the centre for yoga and meditation and breakfast, ready to share the rest of another wonderful day.

We will begin our morning with a tour of the Valley of the Kings. Of particular note this morning, of course, is the world famous tomb of the boy king, Tutankhamum. Also on this mornings’ agenda is the Temple of Queen Hatchepsut and the giant Colossei of Menon nearby.

After some authentic lunch, taken as a group in a local restaurant, we will return to the centre for some much deserved rest and discussions. Those who wish to stay on and visit more local sites, are welcome to do so and we can arrange this for you on location and at nominal further cost. Horse riding is also available and bicycles can be hired, if desired.

After so much activity in the early part of the day, tonight sees us lie back and chill out to ambient music and extended meditations, guided by Debrah.

Day Six

Yoga and meditation and breakfast, as usual and followed by:

A group visit to Temple Medina Habut and Hatchepsut’s Temple. Medina Habut is rarely visited by tourists on the main tourist trail and is particularly intimate. Our MP3 audio programme focuses today on the challenges of expressing powerful feminine energy in the world and uses the archetypal energy around this to provide healing for us all.

Arriving back in Luxor mid to late afternoon, there is time to rest up before we take dinner by campfire on the West Bank desert edge (subject to local government permit and otherwise in the garden of our centre.)

Tonight we share our experiences of the journey so far in the context of archetypal Egyptian goddesses of the ancient past.

Day Seven

Yoga, meditation and breakfast

A day of rest, integrating and sharing our experiences so far. There is also an opportunity to return to any personal favourite sites or engage in further shopping today.

We can arrange for massages and healing sessions with a local masseuse and Debrah and Vaishali will be available to anyone needing additional support.

Skipping our usual lunch today, we will instead take afternoon tea at the Old Winter Palace hotel. Now a Sofitel hotel, but maintaining all of its old colonial charm from its past purpose as the winter palace residence of King Farouk, it really is a special place.

In the evening we will enjoy our last dinner together as we gratefully acknowledge all that we have accomplished during the week and celebrate the Rise of the Divine Feminine energy once more.

Day Eight

Yoga, meditation and one final breakfast together before transferring to Luxor International Airport for the flights home.

The trip is over but this ancient and magical land will be forever with us.
