AYAHUASCA & NOYA RAO SILENT RETREAT
- AYA Healing Retreats
- Pucallpa, Peru
- Dec 4 - 15, 2018 (12 days)
What does the Noya Rao silent retreat in Peru involve?
The Noya Rao dieta silent retreat in Peru is similar and yet very unlike our standard Ayahuasca retreats in Peru. It is a 12-day immersive journey into silence. You will be asked to refrain from speaking from the morning of the third day of retreat until the morning of your last day. The retreat will involve a Master Plant Dieta on the sacred Noya Rao tree, 5 Ayahuasca ceremonies. and Daily Guided Meditation. You will also have the opportunity to participate in one to one consultations with our Shipibo curandera Maestra Juana each day of the retreat to seek spiritual guidance as you journey with the sacred plant medicines.
Our chaotic lives are often characterized by the absence of silence and can be devoid of intentional space for reflection and contemplation. Getting out of the city, traveling deep into the bush or forest can be a rare encounter that brings us briefly, face to face with natures silence and with the subtleties of our inner worlds. Often when we simply listen to our thoughts and to the sensations within we encounter strange and uncomfortable feelings. It can be difficult to simply be with what is and do not seek temporary distraction from technology, social media and from routine busyness. Silence is confronting, yet it may hold the potential to heal old wounds and heighten our intuitive capacities in ways we could never have imagined. Befriending silence has the power to transform our lives; lives that we may have spent careful time curating to avoid silence at all cost.
Silent has therefore never been rarer, nor has it been more important.
Our silent retreat is designed to gently confront you with your own silences and the thoughts and sensations within that need your attention in order for you to heal and to begin experiencing the world anew.
Will there be time to share?
Yes. Whilst on retreat, you will be able to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with the AHR facilitators and the other retreat participants when we have dedicated circle discussion the morning after each Ayahuasca ceremony. These circle discussions are invaluable in helping you to process your experiences of Ayahuasca and Noya Rao. We therefore strongly encourage all participants to attend and to share honestly. There will also be dedicated time set aside on each day of the retreat for you to speak individually with one of our experienced facilitators. It’s important to note that this is not a therapy session, but rather an opportunity for you to talk through your experience of the sacred plant medicines. We find that these sessions often help participants to gain the clarity necessary to recognize what needs to be let go of and the courage to leave behind what’s no longer serving them.
Am I expected to refrain from communicating via phone, text, and email for the duration of the retreat?
Yes. You are expected to refrain from using your mobile phone to text, call, email and access social media apps for the duration of the retreat. We encourage all participants to take care of all urgent matters prior to commencing their retreat. You will be expected to abstain from using your devices from the second day of retreat until the morning of the final day.
Elio is an amazing leader! On point organisation and structure. He is well connected in the indigenous community and has a great understanding of the spiritual journeys and the psychology of us humans. Elio is highly likeable and someone you will trust from the beginning of your journey.

Venue HighlightsThe Sui Sui Centre houses a large ceremonial space called a Maloca (communal house); it is here that we will where we will participate in our Ayahuasca rituals on several of our evenings. The centre also hosts a main kitchen and dining area and several communal areas, which are excellent for enjoying great conversation with others and admiring the ever-changing lakeside. You will have your own private bungalow, which faces directly onto Lake Cashibocacha. Sui Sui is fully equipped with an emergency fire protocol as well as several fully stocked first aid kits. The camp also hosts several Western toilets and modern showers and hand washing sinks.
Sui Sui has reliable access to the Internet as well as phone reception, however we recommend that you take care of all matters that require your urgent attention prior to joining us on retreat, either while in Pucallpa or in your home country. This will enable you to be fully present and to receive the true healing benefits from not only the sacred plant medicines, but from the superior beauty of the surrounding forest and lakeside environment.
The lake surrounding Sui Sui is remarkably clean and free from the pollution we are accustomed to that characterizes our urban waterways. To preserve the integrity of the river water, we only permit our guests to use biodegradable and chemical free soaps, shampoos and toothpastes. We will have chemical free soaps, insect repellents and shampoo available at the camp for a small fee, but we do encourage you to bring your own.
