Seasonal Allergies and Herbal Home Remedies with Feather Jones, Registered Herbalist, AHG

Continued Education Wellness Workshop Retreat

This full day, 6 hour workshop covers herbal therapies for seasonal hay fever symptoms, environmental and food allergies.  The respiratory materia medica of common and not so common bioregional plants will be gone over in class, and many samples tasted of medicinal plants that support the respiratory system and strengthen the immune system.

Feather will also share hands-on kitchen recipes of respiratory syrups, fire cider vinegar, medicinal infusions and an antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory respiratory tincture, all for take home samples. Each student will receive one ounce of echinacea tincture, a 2 ounce bottle of respiratory syrup, and 5-6 female boluses.

Schedule:

9:00 – 12:00:  Lecture on immune system and respiratory system plants.

12:00pm -1:00pm Lunch (recommended to bring your lunch and stay on site to enjoy the remote, natural location and river.

1:00 – 3:45:   Hands on kitchen instructions for a respiratory cough syrup, warming antiviral vinegar, medicinal infusions and an immune strengthening, respiratory clearing tincture.

3:45 – 4:00:  closing circle.

Feather Jones is a Clinical Herbalist and integrates herbal remedies, holistic nutrition, flower essences and stress reduction guidance.  Her 30+ year career in teaching herbal medicine and clinical practice, coupled with a background in First Nation (Mandan) tribal teachings, provides her clients and students with a synergistic approach to health and healing.

She is a botanical field trip instructor for the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, AZ.  In Boulder, Colorado, she founded and directed the Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies, a certified herbal school housing one to three year programs in Western Herbalism.  As well, Feather was twice past president for the American Herbalists Guild.  She holds a certificate from the Santa Fe College of Natural Medicine in 1982.

Feather also owns and operates Canyon Spirit Botanical Ventures, LLC, a tour company that specializes in herb walks, botanical field trips, earth ceremony and vortex hiking tours.  She offers classes in Western Herbal Medicine open to the public as well as various gatherings and conferences around the country.

Feather owns and operates an organic herbal energy inspired tea company, Sedona Tea Blends.  Sedona’s famed vortex energies and selected desert flower essences are infused into a mandala of medicinal botanicals that provide a wellness tea for body, mind and spirit.

Venue Highlights

SW Studio is a clean, eco-friendly unique retreat location with spaces fully equipped for classes, workshops, retreats & special events for continued education, and ongoing classes for yoga, t h e healing arts, wellness programs, musical events, and conscious gatherings & wellness programs.
The 1400 sq. ft studio floor has radiant floor heated stained cement floor equipped with 1 wall of mirrors, 2 walls of windows, one large unobstructed wall for practicing yogic inversions, wall installed cubbies for storage, a boutique area available to sell products, a domestic commercially appointed kitchen area for cooking classes, 3 treatment rooms, a comfortable lounge reception area, devotional artwork, 4 available bathrooms and one shower. We are equipped with yoga mats, blocks, and blankets, and can accommodate up to 75 people seated theater style and approx. 30 yoga mats. There is a large screen digital monitor a projector with surround sound CD player all with Internet. The rooms are acclimatized with swamp coolers, and air conditioners. There is radiant floor heating throughout.
The outdoor areas include a large covered porch the length of the building and a south facing central patio area for outside workshops or lounging with a covered patio and outdoor kitchen area, which is surrounded by an indigenous desert landscape. There is a formal fire pit on the lower north facing side and a groomed path to the river approx. an 8- minute walk from the rear arch. There is parking for 25+ vehicles, and two platforms on the side and the rear of the building for a tent. Ashram style accommodations are possible.

We are an all organic, non-GMO domestic commercially outfitted Kitchen. Our staff is trained for a variety of menu preparations, overseen by our Wellness Director.

and shower, and a kitchenette.

The Flying Eagle Country Retreat is surrounded by native landscaping and is frequently
visited by native wildlife, including coyote, javelina, deer, fox, and a variety of birds (cardinals, quail, ravens, hawks,
and more.) The convenient continental breakfast for B&B guests will get each day off to a wonderful start.

Our Southwest Bed & Breakfast retreat is an Arizona High Desert oasis, bordered by
National Forest, secluded and yet close to Clarkdale and Sedona. Our hand built passive
solar sustainable B & B is nestled in a verdant permaculture landscape with a terraced organic garden. This is a large 400 sf studio, with original Southwest artwork and soft lighting. It sleeps 3 on a very comfortable queen sized Nova Foam bed and also a pull-out twin sofa, with 100% Egyptian Cotton Sheets. It includes a private pool and hot tub! We are centrally located for exploring everything the Verde Valley has to offer from Sedona (20 minutes) to
Jerome (10 minute).
