Find the Peace of the Holidays at Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat

Song of the Morning is a place of exquisite peace and beauty during the holiday season, and the perfect place for those feeling pulled inward into spiritual reflection.  Experience the peace and joy of the season embraced by a warm and welcoming community celebrating and honoring the deeper meaning of the holidays. During the 12 Days of Christmas we are all one community, and invite everyone into the full participation of yoga which is felt not only in receiving, but in giving as well. By giving fully of our selves – our time, energy, attention, presence, thoughts and actions – we draw God magnetically to us. As Yogananda puts it, “Life should be chiefly service. Without that ideal, the intelligence that God has given you is not reaching out toward its goal. When in service you forget the little self, you will feel the big Self of Spirit.”

There are many opportunities to come and be in stillness and quiet, including two meditations scheduled daily before and during the Twelve Days of Christmas, and of course our Shrine Trails are always available for a wintry hike or ski.

Accommodations

The Boathouse Apartment overlooks the Pigeon River and surrounding meadow. Its open yet inviting floor plan is just the beginning of what makes this our most sought after accommodation.

The Wheelhouse Apartment is a recently renovated apartment with a large kitchen/dining area, full bathroom and bedroom with queen-size bed and sitting area. You'll feel like you're living in nature with all the comforts of home. Offers a peaceful view of the forest, with deer and other wildlife often passing by or feeding right outside the windows.

The Lodge sits upon a forested hill overlooking the Pigeon River. It is a comfortable facility that is perfect for those wanting more privacy. The Lodge features a large living room area, used for evening meditations, our Sunday service and occasional workshops. It also has a full kitchen for guests to use.

The Mainhouse houses the Ranch dining room, kitchen, office and bookstore. It has a small sitting area, outside deck and low-speed wireless internet. The Mainhouse sits above the Pigeon River with a glorious view of the Pigeon River as well as trumpeter swans, bald eagles and other wildlife.

The Domes, comprised of three 40-foot bio-dome structures with skylights, is a beautifully unique facility. It provides a more communal environment with two large shared bathrooms (one each for men & women), refrigerator, tea kettle and microwave. The Center Dome is an open dome often used as a workshop space.

Camping Sites are available throughout the property. Enjoy the beautiful Pigeon River Forest in the rustic environment of the outdoors. With the spiritual energy of the land, fresh air, and starry nights like nowhere else, camping here is a must for nature lovers.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I teach yoga part time and am a mom of two toddlers full time. I love my life, but goodness do I need a break. My husband and I have been putting off our wedding ceremony for 4 years because life has gotten in the way. We haven't had a single night alone since our family has grown. I wouldn't change a thing about our lives now, but it would be so wonderful to remember what it's like to 'just be us.' Antrim

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
