Stress is within us and all around us. It is hard to ignore. It seems that stress is in the very fabric of this modern life and it is no wonder so many of us do not feel well.
Our modern lifestyle has escalated so much and has brought us indoors, far from nature and into a structured system of benchmarks and unrealistic expectations. No wonder we are suffering. Diseases of the body and mind have become a normal part of our society and with the growth of digital connectively it seems this global anxiety is only growing stronger.
Our nervous system, which controls our body, is divided into two separate functions: Fight or Flight (The sympathetic system) and Rest and Digest (the para-sympathetic system). Both are necessary, intelligent and essential parts of being alive. The problems start when we spend too much time in ‘fight or flight ‘and the longer we spend there the harder it is to reverse.
Stress, or accurately, excess stress is at the root cause of inflammation. An increasing body of evidence shows that chronic inflammation causes and advances many common diseases (reference).
IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE SIMPLE, EFFECTIVE AND ENJOYABLE PRACTICES TO ACCESS THE ‘REST AND DIGEST STATE’. THIS CREATES THE IDEAL ENVIRONMENT FOR BOTH BODY AND MIND TO HEAL.

What esoteric practices have shown us is that the body and mind are inherently connected. What happens to one happens to the other too.
Just as we feel stressed, worn out, hopeless and anxious, there is a correlating reaction in the body.
What’s exciting about our modern day technology is that we can study the body in a controlled setting and learn from that how to effect change in the mind. And vice versa. What might seem conceptual, is actually scientifically proven.
Our body and mind wants to heal and is fully capable of it. Chronic stress keeps us in survival mode and nothing functions as optimally as it should. Over longer periods the negative effects on the body and mind become a problem.
REST. RELAXATION. RESTORATIVE MOVEMENT. SLEEP. SILENCE. NATURE. CONNECTION TO OTHERS.
The bedrock of a healthy body and mind. This isn’t the fancy pair of shoes, the special occasion footwear. Rest, deep healing rest is the everyday footwear. The bare bones of a happy and healthy life and the true solution to our busy and stressful lives.
We cannot always change our circumstances, but can change how we respond and react, both mentally and physically. It is time to create new habits, to be who we really are. The best that we can be. A body and mind that functions optimally and in harmony with it’s environment.

Over the years of running retreats we see that no matter the personal circumstances, whether newly retired or recently graduated – we are all struggling with the same things. It feels like we are all pushing upstream and fighting against the constant current of life.

Venue HighlightsOur purpose designed, luxury venue is set against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, the Cliffs of Moher and the beautiful countryside of Co.Clare, Ireland. We are located on the west coast of Ireland and Europe just about the mid-point of The Wild Atlantic Way, a 400 Kilometre stretch along Ireland’s rugged western coastline. We provide a variety of luxury yoga retreats throughout the year.
Join us in our beautiful yoga studio and watch the wild waters of the Atlantic Ocean from the comfort of our under-floor heated space. Set in the grounds of our retreat and facing directly out to Liscannor Bay, a massive wall of glass spanning 10m x 3m takes in the most stunning sea-view.
Our architecturally designed building has been lovingly created with your retreat in mind. All the details have been carefully planned and thought out. You will find the most modern heating system, bringing the room to the temperature of your choice. There is a state of the art sound system operated by Bluetooth and our lighting scheme allows for different moods and options.
The space is fully stocked with yoga equipment including mats, blocks, bricks, belts, blankets and bolsters. We have a fluoride-free fresh water filter and 2 bathrooms, one of which is wheelchair accessible. There is a large spacious arrival hall and a beautiful therapy room which is available to use for massages and other therapies.
The yoga studio has been orientated with the South-facing glass curtain taking in the views of the Atlantic Ocean and there are 2 panoramic windows, one facing East and catching the morning sunrise and the other facing West and allowing the pink light of sunset to filter in.
AccommodationsLooking for a peaceful night’s sleep? We have 14 bedrooms and can sleep up to 30 guests. Here is a list of the types of rooms we have available. At the time of booking, only the remaining rooms will be available to book. No matter what room choice, all our beds are made with the same Egyptian Cotton linen, hotel style mattresses, a bath towel per person and a hand towel per bathroom, hairdryer and hand-soap.
The Quad Room (female only): This is a large spacious room with 4 single beds with ample space beside each of them. There is a separate bathroom with an additional separate toilet in the same house.
Twin Shared Bathroom: This is a smaller twin room to our ensuite twin rooms, and shares a large bathroom with one other single room. The bathroom has a freestanding shower and large bath. There is an additional separate toilet in the same house. This room has two single beds in it. We have only one of these rooms available.
Single Shared Bathroom: This room has a window looking out to the courtyard with a single bed and shares a large bathroom with one twin room. The bathroom has a freestanding shower and large bath. There is an additional separate toilet in the same house. We have one of these rooms available.
Twin Ensuite: Our most popular room choice, these rooms are large with two twin beds, a number of which can be converted into a Queen sized bed when occupied by a couple. We have many of these rooms available and they range in style, decor and view but are all similar. All these rooms are ensuite.
Single Ensuite: These rooms are similar to our Twin Ensuite above and vary in size, decor and view, but are all ensuite.

We has a truly wonderful weekend at the centre. I managed to get my dates wrong and arrived on the wrong weekend! Rebecca in the office did her best to accomodate us, fortunately there was a cancellation and we could stay. We hadn't booked a yoga retreat, my wife was a little anxious, not having done yoga before but she ended up really enjoying it and we booked yoga classes locally when we arrived home. The centre is beautifully appointed, very restful with a lovely peaceful athmosphere and the yoga studio is stunning with its front glass wall overlooking the sea. The cliffs of Moher are nearby and the whole area has a magical quality. The delicious vegetarian food is to die for and we can't wait to go back again soon.

I have just returned from my 3 rd trip to the cliffs retreat. I first went there in 2017 with some friends and as soon as the weekend is over I start thinking and planning my next retreat. The yoga, food, setting and general ambiance is just perfect. Staff are lovely and especially our teacher Derbhlea who’s gentle ways manages to accommodate all levels in her classes. I am longing for my 2020 trip already. Thank u all. Liz

Absolutely wonderful experience in this beautiful place. Windswept hikes, yoga that catered for all levels and felt truly nurturing and restorative, delicious food. Our teacher Dearbla had a lovely nurturing presence. Hope to come back again!

A life changing retreat. Each day started with a delicious plentiful breakfast including porridge to warm us up. This was followed by a meditation, each day with a different theme, and then yoga. Afternoons were at leisure providing the opportunity to swim, use the outdoor hot tub or sauna or just relax and read in front of a roaring fire. Evening yoga was restorative. I came to the retreat a complete yoga beginner suffering with exhaustion. I left a yoga convert feeling strong in body and mind and ready to face the challenges life throws at you. The place is simply magical and the staff are magical too. I’ve already booked to return next year. If you are looking for someone to nourish every part of you both spiritually and physically this is the place.

I just took the Rest, Recover and Reflect retreat and thoroughly enjoyed it! The instructor, Michelle, was down-to-earth yet an expert and I learned so much. It can be as active or as restful as you want it to be as there are walks and sea swims (optional) as well as rest. The walk along the Cliffs of Moher was wonderful, as well as the delicious food, scenery, yoga, people, and the overall atmosphere. You really feel recharged after the experience. It's exactly as described on the website, only better and I'll be back for sure!

I loved every minute of the weekend. The calm and quiet of the area and the amazing night sky. The yoga practice each morning with an amazing view over the Atlantic was beautiful. The food was so tasty and nourishing . Having the hot tub at night under the stars was a highlight. Lovely staff and Dearbhla the yoga teacher was very knowledgeable and inspiring. Can’t wait to go back????.

I really enjoyed the retreat. The accommodation was superb, the food was excellent, and the yoga sessions were very good. I loved watching the sea and listening to the wind and rain. My only point to make is that the gluten free bread on the tables was not labelled as such, creating a chance of cross contamination. The same with the butter, a separate labelled dish would be good, again to avoid cross contamination. Hope to return soon.

A fabulous retreat with a amazing facilities and people working there. I was made feel welcome from the off and enjoyed every moment from yoga sessions in a studio with the best view I’ve ever encountered to the lovely facilities provided and excellent food. Practicing yoga in sunrise and sunset, with a fabulous teacher Eithne, was truly a pleasure.

I was extremely lucky to spend 5 days at The Cliffs of Moher Retreat for the Embracing Winter October Retreat. Everything about this most spectacular place is amazing....the owners, teachers, chefs, and staff all go above and beyond to make your stay seriously special. From the warm welcome you receive to the beautiful yoga and meditation classes, the delicious food (which way exceeded my expectations), the outdoor hot tub and sauna, surfing and swimming in the cold sea, Moher the dog, all set against the breathtaking, wild and freezing Atlantic is an experience that I will never forget. A huge thank you all at the retreat for a magical experience and I can't wait to come back!
