About This Event

4 Days All Inclusive Retreat for Music Lovers and Chamber Music Professionals

A Chamber Music Workshop * Performance * Retreat

Join us in the redwoods with the internationally celebrated Alexander String Quartet and Robert Greenberg as they explore the music of Franz Schubert in a four-day, SCHUBERTIADE: CHAMBER MUSIC AND SONGS OF FRANZ SCHUBERT (contact info blocked))  sponsored by the Apollo Academy for Health and Humanism.

This four-day all-inclusive retreat provides an opportunity for a unique personal experience with distinguished musician and lecturer Robert “Bob” Greenberg and the internationally acclaimed Alexander String Quartet (ASQ).  The Alexander String Quartet will be joined by acclaimed mezzo soprano Kindra Scharich and pianist Jeffrey LaDeur, Artistic Director of the San Francisco International Piano Festival and New Piano Collective.  The retreat includes nightly performances by the Alexander String Quartet anchored by Robert’s insightful, inspiring and immensely entertaining narratives weaving together the history, technique, drama, and romance of classical music.

Musicians and music lovers are encouraged to attend this retreat which includes: lodging, all vegetarian meals, classes, workshops, and performances.  We suggest adding bodywork or a wellness treatment to fully compliment your experience.  Please visit our Wellness Center for current offerings and to schedule an appointment.

Retreating musicians will be placed in quartets and obtain coaching on Schubert’s string chamber masterpieces by ASQ musicians culminating in a performance of the piece. Please see the application process outlines at: (contact info blocked)
