The first in a series of weekend retreats suitable for anyone interested in the practice of meditation as a way to develop fearlessness, confidence, openness, and gentleness towards ourselves and our world. An introduction or reintroduction to meditation and regular practice over a weekend is a very powerful way to strengthen your meditation and your motivation to develop a regular personal practice.
Meditation is presented as an opportunity to rest in what you already are — basic goodness, natural peace and clarity. It is how we train in being awake, placing the mind on the breath, in the present moment.
Through the simple, regular practice of sitting meditation, you learn to develop friendship with your mind, skill in how to work with speed and difficulty, and a sense of humour. Slowly you can let the mind relax within itself, and let go of struggling with yourself.
The weekend is non-residential and will take place in The Yoga Sanctuary, Constantia.
